With weather turning I’ve gotten back actually running a saw instead of tinkering. Last weekend I got an 18” oak that had seen its best days. Just short of a half cord. This weekend I tackled this older blowdown red oak. It’ll come near a cord and a half.

Unless you get faked out by the weather guessers.... like here this past Saturday. Supposed to have been mid 70’s, got soaked in the well above 80 temps. Didn’t help that me and MarkG were cutting on a farm with zero shade.
Slathered up with Bug30X wipes. And adding a cap of oil to the tank, for this saw anyways. More problem in the garden than in woods. But not wearing coveralls in the garden.
Finished up on this big guys today. Took the 288 with the 24” 12 rounds. Glad the trailer was down hill. Just about 1/2 cord in the 12 rounds.
Nice work sir! Those big uns make firewood fast. Had one that size last Fall and 12 or so rounds made the same. 28" DBH if memory serves me correct. Im old and when the memory serves me at all im happy...if i remember that!
