I have a pile of rounds waiting to be split. I offered them up at $20 less per cord than split wood and was surprised when the last 3.5 cord I sold was the rounds. It’s worth $20 a cord to me not having to split and stack it.

Yeah,- 20 bucks not to split even with a splitter and perfect conditions is worth it in my book. So long as you're not selling that wood unseasoned to people who might think it's ready to burn that's fine in my book.

Do you deliver or is it pick up Reloader? Sold a guy a half cord of red oak late last Winter. He asked if I had unsplit logs as he would buy them like that. I have maybe 40 PU fills at my honey hole so I may call him. He is a quarter mile from me and HH is 5 minutes. And he would take oak and there is a lot there yet.

Your customers are willing to split and then stack. That is surprising to me, too! Did you just dump the rounds or stack them somehow? Or did they pick them up at your place?

I have had some luck through the years selling rounds. Usually it’s people looking to save $20 or guys who like to get a little workout in and this provides a rare opportunity

Definitely sell the rounds. If people are willing to buy rounds for $20 less than split wood then you should consider raising your price for split wood. The differential between rounds and splits should be near 1/4 to 1/3 of the total.

$20 not to split a cord of wood that you don’t get to use? I’m not sure if your doing something right or something wrong LOL.
    Good deal, good day.

They came and looked and both said they wanted the rounds.
One is just using them for outdoor firewood and the other will split and use them at the end of the winter in a fireplace.
I’d hauled the rounds down on the side by side and stacked them and I’ve been splitting them when I get time.
The guy today said to save him 2.5 cord of rounds for next year.

Give the customer what he wants and you will make sales.
