Fortunately it is visibly attached at two points, and isn't ingrown. There may be more surprises of course. I'm pretty impatient to crack open a round and see what the moisture content of this lightning struck oak is!

I just showed Mrs Mikeinma, the new pics of your front yard.

Everything being relative, she won't remind me when I leave a few logs around. But she will. ☺

In the future your grandson will be able to tell some stories to his own kids about his crazy grandmother "the chainsaw wielding logger". Too bad it will sound so outlandish no one will believe him. :loco:  Good news though, it's all been documented on this site and will be saved for posterity!
Anyway in the mean time feed that kid well so in a few years you will have some muscle to assist you. Congrats on an awesome score!

Yeah that's right. Has Midwinter ever posted a different thread? In the time I've been a member I don't ever recall?

Does he like climbing on the logs? Not that often you get biguns like that? Fond memories of when I was a kid of climbing on the trunk after dad felled a tree. I guess the kid in me still does enjoy it as I do it often.

    I did at my beginning...
    Funnest Craigslist score ever!
But then Deadwood started this thread, and it made sense to keep tacking on my dump scores. It's handy to have your exploits in a single thread.

He likes climbing on anything! I get big trunks occasionally, but not dropped off in my yard, this was a treat to just have it arrive. I'm glad I hit WeldrDave's property hard in August, because the next few weeks I'll be busy with this.

You did get some nice easy processing wood outta there. Is there a lot more on the ground? You and The Wood Wolverine hauled a lot of wood in August. Does FHC give monthly awards?

There is more that he dropped, but mostly under a lot of brush. I've taken most of the easy stuff. I've been hauling some brush to my town dump, since I have room on top of the logs, and I drive past it on my way home.

Is it my imagination or does the person holding the medal have long fingers?
