:picard:IMO, WAY, WAY too long to not have been cleaned. 6-7 years is all I'd ever wait before having it done. And that is with adding Rid-X every 3 months or so......ESPECIALLY since you have the equipment to dig it up easily.

Yah, every 3-4 years for me and that’s with two adults.

‘93? That’s a lot of turds. Did they make it to the leaching field?

That is going just a bit long between cleanings! At my previous house we waited 12 or 14 years before the first cleaning. We actually did it because the Ex had crushed one of the leach field pipes while driving a truck over it and burying the back end while trying to pull out a stump. Figured while he was digging up pipe, he might as well dig to the tank and check out how everything was doing.

When the guy pulled the cover, it was almost to the top. Guy suggested every 4-5 years (just 2 of us).

Snowy how come you never got that tank pumped out? Didn’t know you had to? Hope the leach field isn’t buggered! Set a reminder, every five years - done.

I knew that eventually the tanks fill with sludge.

We don't use harsh chemicals in the toilets and such.

    Actually 26 years.

A lot of good living in that tank

Guys showed up about noon and since we had the top cleared they just popped the big clean out cover off and sucked it out.

    took 30 minutes total...

    $378.00

    Great deal.

They gave military discount too....10% was $420

Now I gotta cover the thing back up.... Arrrrrgh

I may order 5 yards of sand and fill the hole with sand instead of dirt...

    Easier to dig out later.

Or I may put it a plastic tube with a cover so the clean out bung can be readily removed without digging.

For the next month or so I am gonna leave the top uncovered.

That sucker was full to the brim.

Luckily the drain outlet to the leach field was fine.

Mostly it was an issue with the inlet drop pipe was clogged at the bottom and the inflow was trying to flow out the top of the inlet T against the tank top.

Just waaaay too long without getting sucked .....

In this state the area over the tank and the leach system must be loomed and grass seeded.

Our leach lines run through the horse paddocks.

No spec on the cover over the tank.

I want to make access in the future easier and not
    require the tractor or SHOVEL

I figure 2024 or so and we can pump it again.

I may not be around, but the daughter and son in law will be.

    26 years this time through...
It will likely do 10 years with no sweat.....

Yeah, I rode in to work on the bike because last night they said the rain would start at 5 or 6 pm today. Well, I left work shortly before 4 and it was lightly raining then. Then I hit some REAL rain about 20 miles from home and the rest of the way to my driveway. Turned on the news and I had been riding thru a yellow & red area on the radar. I was happy I had my leathers and 3/4 helmet on so the hard rain didn't sting at all. But I did have to keep wiping the inside of my face shield to get the fog off. IMy gloves were so wet I could wring them out - but my hands were dry . My pants from the knees down were wet because it crept up from underneath the chaps. But, it is 68* out, so never felt cold.

At least all the bugs from this morning's ride should be washed off the bike. Probably got replaced by a ton of road grime though.

    Oh yeah... never fails...
rain is one way to insure that your bike will get detailed asap..
As for the rain.. I've gotten stuck several times,
where the paper money in, and, my wallet,
had to be put on towels to dry out overnight..
I hate it when that happens...

Sometime after I empty 7 bladders and tap 23 kidneys, Bear is a bit strange in his internal plumbing.

    Well now.

With the Septic tank all pumped out and working good again life is great.

The weather was scorching Tuesday and Wed.......with highs anywhere from 98 to 106

We were up in Portland on Wed and the temp in the cars readout showed 101 to 106 coming home.

About 94 here at the ranch (1250 feet elev.)
Yesterday dawned much cooler with a few sprinkles

Today it's cloudy (Heavy marine layer) and it may not clear off until later this afternoon. yessssssssssssssssssssssss...

I am pleased that this summer has seen far less 90 plus F days compared to last year.

Last summer saw 15 90F or higher days in July
From June to September we had a total of 30 days of 90 F or above

So far this summer were are at 9 days of 90 F or above

July was much cooler...August has been about norma.

We actually had fires in early July as it was cool....

    I am ready for fall.

Went out yesterday and replaced a couple boards on the Deck.

Two boards had the ends rotted off and they were not sitting on the joists.... unsafe totally.

Ripped those bad boys out and dropped in some new ones.

I was afraid somebody was gonna step on them and maybe go through.

These were originals from 1993 when we built the place....can't complain on that long service life.

I still need to replace about 15 boards.... some are just cracked at the ends, but are still safe.

    Maybe next year....

Went and picked up my next-to-last ton of pellets that I had on layaway. So here is my stash minus the 1 ton I still have to get.

65 bags by the washer in the basement
    65 pellets by washer.jpg

69 bags in the garage - I broke that bag but saved most of the pellets (top row is only 4 because that pipe jogs down)
69 pellets in garage (top row only 4).jpg
105 bags between the washer and dryer (big pallet so it is 7 bags to each row)
    105 pellets by dryer (7 per row).jpg

Adds up to 4.8 tons so far
Don't bother :vulture: because these are all under lock and key and maybe a bit of :rootintootin: for back up :D
