Got the pit blazing. Hopefully the boys and I can roast a few marshmallows before the rain comes down, thunder in the distance now.
Planning on doing the same thing here with my little one! One thing I didn’t expect but the oak is surprisingly strong. I believe the majority of what grows around here is Burr Oak. It was kiln dried but I think I would enjoy a fire more with some mixing of soft woods too. Pine would be great in this mix, more quicker a fire. Just saying since this is actually my first burning of Middle USA wood.
We were able to get a few s’mores and marshmallows done before the rain came hammering down, no pics of the snacks, but if we do the same tomorrow we take some pics.
+1 for the washing machine tub on a steel rim club. Best use for that calypso washer that never got the clothes clean.
Thanks. The 2 front corners of my yard have been a project since I had 2 giant maples taken down winter before last. That big maple stump behind the stove is getting burned this fall. The stove came in handy during our snowstorm in march.
