If I was in that area, I would probably take them up on "that" offer. Yew is very beautiful carving wood. And that tree/shrub couldn't be easier for the yield.
Those people that want you to do their free tree work are mighty persistent too! Theres a few postings that have been up for over two years in my area

I'm tempted to reply. "Yes I can be there Sunday morning at 6:30. Is there a place I can unload my bulldozer and backhoe? Might mess up your lawn a bit but I'm sure you won't mind since I'm doing this for FREE".
People will try to get stuff done for free and I'm sure there is someone out there willing to do it for the boards. I did a job couple months ago. The guy had carefully removed all the 2x6 deck boards and neatly stacked them off to the side. I asked and he was going to cut them up and throw away. Most were reusable and I took them. Made some wood racks and the rest will be utilized in a lean to wood shed for a friend.
An App being used today is OfferUp, has gained some popularity as it is easier to post something as well as Facebook Marketplace. I do see the odd “cut down my tree(s) and keep the wood as payment. Must be licensed and bonded” post but I’m slightly doubtful of anyone wanting to do this on a “free wood” deal unless it were a special circumstance...
