I knew this man, he helped pour the cement floor in our basement and the garage. He was a nice guy. He loved cutting firewood[/QUOTE]

Tough to like that Hellcat but it sounds like he was a stand up guy. I just hate hearing these kind of stories especially when it is someone local.

I know this might sound bad, but if I make it to 81.....I would not mind going out like this assuming it is quick and painless. :dex: Sounds awful in some ways, but it seems fitting as it is my hobby.

Thats so sad, a guy taught me to look at the tree and think about every scenario you can think of and then think about it again. Theres hidden dangers everywhere. You gotta wear a hard hat. I got hit by a smaller diameter tree once rt in the head, almost bit the tip of my tongue off, i never saw it coming, my buddy who was cutting it knew it was gonna hit me but his quick thinking didnt want to yell to me cuz he knew it was too late and i would have maybe looked up and took it rt in the face so im glad i had the helmet. Let me tell you they can absorb a good blow, i was impressed.

I was hit over as year ago by a limb.

I was working with a friend who has a tree service.
We had just dropped a massive elm tree. Trunk was 73" across at the base.

I was sawing away on some limbs, had my 3M AM/FM earmuffs blasting some good heavy metal into my ears.
One of my friends employees cut a limb behind me and it had shifted and ended up landing on my back, took me out and took me down hard.

    I walked it off.

My wife experienced kickback for the first time today, running her little battery powered saw. It got her on the knee, made an incision about 3/4" long. Probably should have been stitched, but we put a butterfly on it. She is a tough one, but nobody is tougher than a moving chain saw.

    So, yes, be careful folks.

Hope she's okay. Keep it clean so infection doesn't become an issue.

Was this the incident that has your back plaguing you for some time?... I may have asked this question somewhat before. Apologies though.
