I set ours at 76f. Like others said it takes out the humidity and really feels good when coming in from the heat outdoors. That being said we have not had much hot weather here this summer. It is 75f with a dew point of 54f now and it looks like we heading into a stretch of nice days through our State Fair. Typically we will get another run at 90f for fair time, but maybe not this year.

Low to mid 70’s... in F’s....
Stepped up to a 2nd window unit this August.
Put blackout heat & UV blocking film on full glass kitchen door at the back porch which lowered the temp of the kitchen almost 10°.
    Win.

I grew up with no ac. Worked all day on a farm and came home to only sweat in my bed at night. I swore that wouldn’t happen in my adult life. Air is 75 during the day and 70 at night. I would turn it colder if it was a newer more efficient unit. We average around 30 days a year with highs in the 90’s and many of those nights it struggles to make it to the low 70’s with high dew points.

We’re nearing the end of about 2 weeks of that chit here. We haven’t had such a sustained run of hot like this for several summers.

We have no AC but put in a whole house dehumidifier when we built this place. When it gets hot and humid outside the inside stays decent. Doesn't use that much electricity.

I hate the heat. I keep my house around 71-72F. The thermostat is on the first floor, so the bedrooms upstairs get into the mid 60's when its running.

That bull is sort of like our electric company who for the past year has been trying to get people onto a new program. They will get a break on electric if they put timers on all refrigeration units and air conditioners to they do not run during the hottest hours of the day. Shoot, that is when it is needed the most! I don't like it but will pay a bit extra to be able to keep our house comfortable and the refrigeration units working to keep things at the right temperature.

I have a nest thermostat that I love. It easily allows me to adjust the AC from my phone. Much easier than my old programmable one. Also I never remember to turn the temp up when I go on vacation, now I can

Mine is set to 78 during the day and then around 4pm begins cooling down to 72 and 9pm it goes down to 68. I like it cold when I go to sleep.

In my younger and much poorer days it was OFF during days around around 77-78 at night. Now it's 76 during day and 73 at night.

Ours stays at 70-72 for the most part. Central forced air propane furnace with a/c. The wife says the electric bill is similar from summer to winter so we leave it there

74, seems to be the happy spot in this house to keep the upstairs and downstairs comfortable.

Not going to sweat on the couch.

Chazsbetterhalf dislikes it when I drop it below 72°F

Bedroom I prefer in the low 60's.

Until my electric bill is paid by others, they can have an opinion, but no influence.
