Good morning everyone! I'll have a stay at home day today, waiting on the chimney cleaners. I'm going to have the fireplace flue cleaned as well as the steel-lined woodstove flue. We only do the fireplace every few years, it doesn't get much use.
I have the last of the poplar to stack.
Then I'm really going to try to keep my hands off firewood, except for pickups out at Dave's place in Winchester. I have lots of yard chores to do before the leaves start to fall. The wood from Dave's place I'm saving to process in winter. I plan on making a trip out there every week or so. It's easier to just take the car and not a trailer, since the driveway is basically a rutted logging road and too hairy to back a loaded trailer down. At least for me.

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. Another 12 hr day for me. We worked on the wood yard a bit last night. Quit at 9:45PM, started a light rain. About 10:30, it was coming down good. Our weather station recorded 2.6" rain last night, sure needed it.
GOD IS SO GOOD, HE LOVES me even with all my faults.

 

Well the chimney sweeps took out a big bag of ash, but he said there was no creosote, which was good to hear.

 

Maybe if he keeps these little GTG going you finally have enough area to turn around up there. Your job would be making sure all that cut wood gets cleared out of there.

Good morning! Well I guess I'll go to work today! Rain later, so I'll try to beat it to Winchester. I've got the fire in my belly, so might as well...
I think now that the campsite is gone, I might be able to turn the car around. I'm a little concerned about what autumn rains will do to the driveway. If it gets too bad, might have to park on the road, or wait until the ground freezes. I'll take a pic every time I go, so we can track the erosion. He graded it this trip, it will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Storm yesterday broke up, wife and I went to pick up my parent's van (40 some miles) they forgot to put the keys in it so we could drive it home! Wife called them this morning, they are going to drop it off for mom and dad. Picked up a banana split and two small ice creams, mom and dad always split a banana split so we ate supper with them and provided desert. FOGGY bus route this morning. (I drive a school bus as well as teach at the high school, my own company vehicle don'tcha know!). Everyone have a great day!

Good day all. Truck is done with inspection but does need a new tie rod. So Chaz gets to do that. 79, hot and humid with partly cloudy skies. Hope everybody has a good day.

 

Good morning everyone! The rain is done, but one more day of heat and humidity, until that cool Canadian air rolls in tomorrow. I'm getting new spark plugs in my car, and the off to Malden to pick up my grandson from camp. School starts next Wednesday! Camp Grandma's house on Monday and Tuesday.
I'm already plotting my next trip to Winchester. Maybe tomorrow morning. I can get there and back by noontime.

Neighbor 2: “she has a toothpick factory downstairs. A young boy that is supposedly her grandson is forced to work day and night taking the wood and turning it into toothpicks and filling those little boxes.”

Got some food plot plowing done yesterday, still about 4 more acres to do. Still got logs to CSS...don't look like we will be sitting idle...lol...
Need to get working on the wood hauler too...
