Absolutely no rain in our forecast for the next week....or so it was yesterday. Right now I'm watching a small cell heading our way. Hoping it holds together as it is only about 15-20 miles from us now. Talk about a forecast that went bad quickly...
After a long cold winter, I've been happy to not even look at the reactor. We've had a couple cool nights/mornings, but nothing worth throwing a fire together for!
We hit 90 today and I went right for the pool along with my aussie pooch when I got home today. Storm just moved through and took it down to 72. Lights went out for a couple seconds then right back on. That was a relief, no genny needed.
Mid 90's with heat index of 108 yesterday. Thunderstorms rolling through this morning with temps in the 70's.
I'm surely glad I'm not near Omaha!! Terrible here with an overnight low of 71. Foggy now and, of course, the sticky to go along with it. Hoping some of that rain that is hitting Omaha reaches us. Yesterday was amazing weathewise. No rain had been forecast for all week but we watched a nice cell moving toward us. Bingo. Like normal, it just fizzled out. It was amazing though watching the radar. That storm didn't just break up gradually, it just disappeared. Then on our trip to the big city we ran through two strong downpours. Wife was hollering because I did not tell her to close windows and with the big downpours, she was imagining coming home to some very wet conditions. Ha! No rain here.
61 this morning, high about 80. Had around 1"-1.5" rain yesterday and I think it all came down in a 15 minute period. Glad for the rain, very dry around these parts. Much gooder than Tuesday.
Sounds better. We were cool this morning too with a high of 74 predicted. Sweet! Humidity and dewpoint at 44.
It has been downright hot in the Lehigh Valley (PA). 88 right now. But looking forward to some snow this winter .
I'm just kicking myself. All this great weather to go out and do outdoor stuff, even if it's just sitting in a chair looking at nature, and here I am stuck at crappy work 10-12+ hours a day. What the heck is wrong with me!
Temps around 90 this week, lows in the mid to low 50's. We're not getting much of anything for rain from this monsoon season. If we hadn't had so much precipitation this winter and spring our forests would be a tinderbox. Hoping for more rainfall before autumn and the dryness that follows. On the bright side I have a group of guys on the back couple acres I' like you to meet.
But we must remember, the farmer has no choice. He has to make hay when the sun shines. That follows everyone through life, no the making of hay, but we also have to make some dollars. Sad, but I haven't figured out how to change it.
Your comment and picture prompted me to post this: VIDEO: Snow From Historic Colorado Avalanche Season Still Over 20-Feet Deep in Places 20' of snow still in CO from last winter? Yes!
Supposed to hit mid-70's today, but it was 39 when I got up. House was down to 60 again.......I left the windows open. Again. Working on some firewood today should be nice. We could use some rain though.
