Anyone here ever make one? Looking to use a cotton canvas 9x12 painters drop cloth, and somehow get it water resistant/proof. Mainly going to be used as a ground cloth to keep cold damp ground out for a tent on a late season October camping trip with some old college buddies. I looked at a store bought canvas tarp but it was $75 and almost had a sticky wax like coating that I am afraid would smear/stick to everything and was about 25 pounds from being so heavily treated.

Personally I would buy one as opposed to the mess of trying to "treat" something that big.
I had I one I bought at Lowes, my recommendation is to roll it around outside and get a coating of dust dirt on the whole thing.
As mine broke in it was really nice to have, so nice someone else liked it more than me.
And it was on the heavy side.
