I didnt get a chance to see it in the cant, but if it acted like his 550 with 10 or so extra cc's, Im sold.
It beat my 261 by almost .5 a second IIRC. Dex would have the times when he and his wife get time to post that. Thanks again Hedge, that chain made my day! Made the little 261 act all frisky like too. Between that chain and Randy's work, that is one bad little firewood saw.
The 550 is broke in and running 3/8 round chisel,The 562 only had 2 tanks of fuel though it so it will get better,it had 3/8 round chisel also. The Dolmar 7900 had 3/8 round chisel to.If I went to more gtg I would invest in some better chain. The 550 should be faster with smaller chain,It did run under 6 seconds later in the day
I kind of hate to tell this but I did't eat lunch at the gtg either because I grew up west of Akron , Ohio and quickly became addicted to Swensons Drive-in double cheeseburger so when I get to a town with a Swensons I am kind of like a good English Pointer going to a covey of quail.
I will try and get all the times up this week sometime. I have the whole week off, but I need to make my 3 car garage a 6 car garage. There is an in-law suite on the back of the garage that has some water damage. . So the suite is coming out. All of it. The sub floor, floor, walls, ceiling, and I need to redo some electrical work. I have a 40 yard hopper in route now. Gonna be a busy bee.. Glad I could meet you. You have some fine Saws my friend.
Going back and looking at all the times? The 550xp was faster. The 550xp pulled sub 6 seconds (5.84) and the 261C went just over 6 seconds (6:13). That was looking at all times. The 241 was the bigger shocker. In stock form, it was under 8 seconds! My 362C went high 6's in Stock form. Certified's 357xp (that thing sounded mean) went under 6 sec. The fastest saw of the day at 3:03 was the 7900 and them the 2nd fastest was my 460 wearing an 18" bar (I should have put the 16" on it ) and was ran by Certified. He posted a 3:22 with it. I made 2 passes but there is no pic of the times, just Certs. Nice running saws were there for sure. With the 064, 066, 660 all just a little longer. I know a few people will be looking at getting there saws ported. The difference between stock and ported times is amazing!
Those ported 562's are some damm fine saws... Mad like a hornet... Did EC build the 7900 also? I have one of his 7901's right now, and they're pretty good runners..
Dex, Certified ran my 261 for a better time than I had. IIRC it was 5.50 flat but I ran so many passes/saws that day I can't keep straight what was what.
You guys are going to convert me to a ported saw, I liked the 261 I ran I think it was MM's saw.If that don't put a huge grin on your face there is something wrong with ya!
My 064 ran 3.03... certain of it. Maybe the times were swapped or it wasn't recorded later on (its when I put my 20" bar back on). Big wood results would have turned out different with all saws running same b/c, but I was impressed with every ported saw I saw there. Your 460 is a beast. I am normally a 372 guy, but that saw changed the way I look at those- no joke. I am glad you got the bear, I didn't realize you wanted it or I would have given it to you before the GTG lol. You made my efforts feel appreciated bro- and anytime we can come up with something for your man cave just give me a shout. You have a friend down here in Mansfield for sure. Some of us NCO guys will have to have a mini gtg now and then, just to stay in practice for the bigger gtg's.
Yeah. I am super stoked about the Bear. I couldn't ask for it, but I also couldn't let that thing go on a dollar raffle. It may have pizzed off the person who was gonna grab it (before I spoke up), but I know you put a lot of time and love into that thing. It was much appreciated by all of us. As for the G2G/GTG, I have 7 acres and a decent lay out. Normally have some wood to cut as well. We could do it anytime. Would love to meet Eric C as well. The 3:03 went to the 7900. I will look again, but she took a pic of every person, and then the time. So there is a pic, then a time. (Edi: Carbines last run only has a pic, she never took a pic of the time. The 7900 was 3:09. I do remember the 3:03. We definitely have to get a few of us together and do it again. I have about 9 ft of one Cant left. We can take a video of the entire thing and then time it out from the video? Get Birddogtg, W8eye's, Yours, and a few other big saws and run the pizz out of them. I should have put the 16" B & C on the 460 Only went down to 20". I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with it. I think the 036 Pro is going down the road and being replaced by a 261C. Got to clean it up and post it up in the Classifieds.
I limbed up the first hemlock with my 026, and started limbing up the second one with it too. Then MM handed me his "modified" 261 and said "here, try this". Wow, what a difference! The 026 was "cutting" those limbs, but the 261 was just "zipping" them off! I was quite impressed!
That 261 was AWESOME! Really wish I would have run the 550xp for a side by side comparison. Now I have a dilemma though......... Mastermind my 460 or drop some coin on a new saw....... I was thinking a 50cc but after timing the 357xp I might be leaning towards porting the 460
