My neighbor had a dead tree on the power line right of way. I asked her to call them so they could top it out. They will do this free of charge because it helps cut down on outages due to storm damage. Got to love easy ones like this. Red oak to boot. So here's what it looked like after they left Thursday afternoon. You can see it behind my wood pile. I had thrown a few of the rounds they had cut over the stack. Here it is after I took the MS261CM to it. Stump is s bit ragged because I forgot I only scored the right side. The Fiskars made short work of most of it. Had about 8 pieces that I split with the 22ton and hauled them around front with the Grizzly and trailer. All stacked and drying in the sun.
Looking good! You never know, those power lines guys could give you a call when they need some damage control removed
So a nice big fat juicy red oak falls basically right onto your stack??? Krykeee! Why can't I get that lucky? Beauty!
Most of the time yes. Had another neighbor that was a builder, he dealt with them a lot and they cut a couple down all the way for him. Either way, as long as they handle the dangerous parts I'm happy.
Looks like they got rid of the small limbs and brush too. Always good to not have to deal with that stuff.
Tree companies do that around here along the highways, too. Bug farms for the woodpeckers I guess. Or enough to keep the huggers happy. 15-25 foot tall stump and a pile of chips.
