Saw one of these in Wally World parking lot today- Nice looking ride. I remember my uncle having a Scrambler when I was a kid growing up on Long Island. It was definitely a cool Jeep, but the salt finally won the battle.
Thankfully, lead has been pretty low for the past 16 or so months as well. I sell batteries, so the lead market on an upward march was hell for me. It dropped over 40 cents per lb and has remained stable since. That's after increasing over 50% over two years.
Looks great and I am looking for a new truck. Just looked at Car Gurus. Boy are they proud of them. "Great Deal" $12385 Below book. Still $48500. To rich for my blood.
Went to high school with a girl that drove one. This was in the late 90s not when they were new. I saw one just like that at the ice machine one day this summer when we were getting ice to go out on the boat.
Bad for me cause I had 250-300 pounds I went to sell a few years ago...after the bottom dropped out!!
A friend's mom still has a white scrambler as her plow truck. I've looked at the new gladiator, but I think they are too small inside for what I need. The bed size is probably fine, but what really did it for me is the engines, or lack of them now. That v6 is pretty pathetic. The diesel isn't out yet, and really, well, it's a diesel. The turbo 4, again, not my cup of tea. I love that the roof comes off though. We'll see in a few years of the engine options are better.
Saw one of those on the frontage road last week. I wasn't even aware they'd been introduced for sale yet. I see so many "camouflaged" vehicles doing high altitude and winter testing I don't even pay much attention to them. I will say this is about my ideal configuration for a do-it-all Jeep though, but the price tag is intimidating.
Well we are a little over half way home. Got in to maumee, oh around 8. Went to Frickers for dinner. Would recommend it to anybody. 2nd time we have been in the right place at the right time. Got about 5 hrs left tomorrow. Have a good night all.
The price tag IS intimidating, agreed. Especially for a small truck. And try sitting in the back seat when the front seats are where you would put them when you are driving. Try to get comfortable in those back seats. There is not enough room in them. Just my opinion. But, they are designed and built with other things in mind. I need a full size truck for comfort and getting work done. I wish Jeep had made them full size like the J-10s, J-20s, J-30s. But they probably didn’t want them to compete with the Rams I guess. Strange. Because the GMC Sierra is the same category as the Chevrolet Silverado. I could see buying a newer model, full size Jeep truck.
I have the leaks I believe sealed. But going tomorrow to pick up new metal for a roof going right over this one. Picked up the perlins today. Rough sawn 1x4s from my custom mill guy. Beats the heck out of Lowe's prices. And it's straight now to work with.
