Made a lot of progress recently. Will be done with the last oak pile by Tuesday. Here’s what’s left to cut - a mixture of mostly maple, ash, sass, walnut all of which have been there the longest and dry out pretty quickly. Also included is a picture of 3 complete 105’ long piles.
Will what's left to cut bring you to 150 cords? Will you be getting more loads of logs, or will this be it?
jrider Someone must have asked this already, but I missed it. What do you do with all the splitter trash and sawdust? I don't believe I've ever seen a little fire going (which is what I do) in any of your photos, so I assume you do something else?
I’m pretty sure what I have will bring me to 150+. I never know when the tree guy will drop off more. It’s like feast or famine it seems. One week he may drop off 5 or more loads then nothing for 3-4 weeks sometimes more.
It gets cleaned up as we go and it creates quite the pile. I did pay to have a 30 yard dumpster for last years but I found a guy about 20 minutes away that will take it all this year. There will be a full day dedicated to loading and hauling it out coming up soon I hope. My dump truck will hold ten yards at a time and I’m thinking there’s at least 3 loads here in this pile.
Looks like you have had an excellent summer. Glad it has worked out with you having surgery too. Maybe it will begin to cool off a bit for you. Still blazing down here.
It was 90’s early in the week but mid 80’s and low humidity the past few days. Feel like I can work all day now
Glad I was at the plant today with A/C and Sunday night when I got off. That's the highest HI I've seen all year.
That’s what I’m hearing but I think it will be later in the day. Trying to spend the day at the shore tomorrow but we will see
Been working here and there the last few days. Had a good feel going today even though it was ridiculously humid but the rain came in at 11 and that was it. Prior to that though I did take off my dry fit shirt 3 times and wring out the sweat! Hoping to get 5-6 hours in tomorrow. Will take pictures of the progress.
You are in way better shape than I am to work in the heat. Enjoy reading this thread from when you started it.
