Finally stacking the 2018/19 firewood in the basement, Was gonna haul splitter to moose camp & split some wood, but 0ver 80°, too hot. Felt guilty , so I hauled 2 loads of wood to the basement , Quit when the sun came to the chute side of the house. Basement is cool, so stacked it. 0 beer: 30.
ingenious wood chute, i love it. Is that your own idea or common practice up your way bogydave ? 80* and hot? T.Jeff Veal wears a sweatshirt at that temp!
Awesome job... Looks plenty dry to me, I'm guessing either 3 or 4 year old stash you have there...? I'm also guessing your cutting this year again? You would burn a lot less with a long trip to southern CA this winter... Nice pics and thanks for sharing..
Originally from WV, we had coal chutes. My wood stove is in the basement, so I put in a wood chute. (click on Wood Chute in signature)
3 year supply, but mild winters & less time here. like you said, we burn less. Maybe 3-1/2 years +. Plan is to cut this year, I had withdraws last Oct not cutting
I checked out your posting about it. Very nicely done! Friend of mine uses his basement window. Only problem is he seasons the wood down there. Bad idea as we know, but he's one of those old timers who you cant tell anything.
Cool pics, chute and shed. At 80 that is like air conditioning and fall temps. If be wide open at that temp Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Yea, finished 17/18 wood last season , well almost, about 10 days supply of it in the basement. Didn't cut in Oct 18, but plan to this year. Have 2, 3 & 4 year wood in the shed now, Need to update the "use in year labels", else I'll forget which is the oldest wood
I'll bet it starts cooling off quickly now Dave. After all, moose season is about onto you already. Has to turn chilly for that! What is the yellow paint for?
I was looking at the wood. Going back to see what your talking about. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
