We got some rain here yesterday and it looks like we got some overnight as well. It was welcome. We need it. A good chance of more today as well. I may get a chance to burn a pile of brush today. I think I’ll take the York Rake apart and replace more of the tines. You hoarders have a good one.

Turned out to be good for burning brush piles today! Dirt all the way around them for a good distance, rain, and no wind. I lit two piles up and let them burn down. Then kept adding to them from the other piles using the hoe/thumb combination. I should have all of it gone by the end of the day!

Hopefully tomorrow I can dig a couple big holes and push the remnants into them and bury it. Then back drag and continue with the York Rake. Getting close to planting seed.

Hi Bill, no warning lights on the dash and the readout in the digital odometer said 80% fuel life left. I drove so much for so long in needy vehicles it's habit for me check the gauges frequently too which were always within limits when I glanced. Only happens when it's hot outside, engine can be hot, but the needle never goes in the red zone. Puzzling huh, since the fuel filter has been replaced several times since the first incident in 2011.

I've had this happen to me before, the fuel filter is bleeding back and losing it's prime. Only ever happened with certain filters. Switched to Balwin and never had another problem. Wix I think was horrible for this problem. Same as what you are saying, only did it if it was hot outside shut it off for a few hours and have to prime it back up. I've had good luck with the GM filters too but they are a little pricey. Water in fuel sensor is just a float that screws into the bottom of the filter, that won't have any effect on the problem unless it was leaking.

The thumb makes a huge difference. Might as well burn this junk up while I’m at it.

That's It!! Except it escalated a week ago today from what you described to dying on highway off ramps and also slowing down for speed limits/stop signs in town (add it was a very long drive over a lot of miles, and the air conditioning went out too and it was almost 100*). VERY interesting! Can't say where WWW had it serviced and what brand filter was in it before we moved here, but happened then, and since we moved here in 2014 its been serviced at the dealer, happening with GM filters too. I looked at replacing it myself last week but the truth is I'm just not capable of what I things I used to do, and out of the gate doing it on a step ladder was pretty much a deal breaker . I wonder if the dealer would put in a Baldwin for me next time around, like forfeit the warranty or similar.

In my cleanup today I ran across this photo. It’s my dad with some of his Rabbit Hash Iron Works stoves. This is in 1980, I was 10. He is sitting on his aluminum prototype that eliminated the back side of every coat in the community. A load of Osage made the top collapse and he promptly had it cut into small pieces so nobody could ever use it. The one on the right is finished and the one on the left was just welded. About 100 total were built and sold. Liability insurance and the EPA made them too costly to sell to the public. Every one that was ever made is still in service as far as we know. The one in the general store survived that inferno, they put on a new pipe and put it back to use after the store was rebuilt. They were completely air tight and a damm fine smoke dragon. I am always looking on the internet for a used one but they are collectors items now. Just thought some folks might want to see it.

It has those unique flowering structures on it at the right time if so. Probably should now?

Filter brand does not void warranty, it's law even. Like getting oil changed at a jiffy lube does not void a warranty. Or changing it yourself with a fram.
