Putting the new plastic pallets to use. Temporarily.

Still trying to get things organized and get get my lawn back in shape. I still have a bunch of stuff to split, but really no where to stack it. So today I moved some things around did a little weedeating and put a couple of the plastic pallets I got a couple of weeks ago to use. At least temporarily.

 

I like the looks of those pallets. They have a lot more open space for air than the ones I got

 

So far I'm pretty happy with them. Light weight yet sturdy, and yes great drainage.

 

Plastic pallets come in all different configurations. Some are mostly solid and some have lots of open space for air flow. These are a few that I have.

 

Lawn is over rated.
Those pallets sure do have great air flow potential.

 

Where can one find plastic pallets? Free or have to pay? I've been finding some wooden pallets for free or $1/each. It seems plastic would last for a long time!

 

I think the plastic pallets are the way to go. I’m in the process of replacing all of the old rotting wood pallets I stacked my wood on with plastic ones .

 

Plastic pallets may or may not stand up to UV exposure plus the abuses wood pallets experience. Years ago they used to have a deposit on plastic pallets as the shipping company wanted them back but that can have the same issues as deposits on bottles and cans ............
Asking around and checking craigslist and marketplace for plastic pallets usually finds employees that have taken some home and pallet recyclers that need some cash or have too much inventory.

 

I was able to secure a nice plastic pallet from one of the industrial areas of the city I live. We just went by after hours and threw it into the car. My wife assured me this was not stealing but I'm not so sure. Either way, I own one and would like to own 3 more.

I have gotten all of my plastic pallets from a recycling site. I gave the guy $15 for 9 pallets and he gave me 4 5gallon plastic pails. He had an assortment of pallets, wood and plastic, and you could pick out the ones you wanted.

 

I scored mine from Fbook market place. Guy worked at a boat factory and had 150 of them at $2.00 a piece.the reek of fiberglass, but that don't bother me.

I got mine from a shopko store when they were all closing. If I recall, I gave $5 each for 15 of them. In hindsight I think I could’ve got the whole stack for probably $2/3 each, probably had 25. I got to sort through em and got the best ones
