Yep, I, or more appropriately my spine, noticed a huge difference going from the 16” MS 250 to the 550 18” while limbing. Not sure if the handlebars are situated to help in length or not. For me just that extra two inches was quite noticeable in the L4-L5 region. Felt young and spry again LOL
Mike, my 2 go too saws are the MS-250 and the Farmboss MS-290 The Farmboss has an 18" bar if I'm remembering right and it's plenty of saw in the range your looking at! Yes, it's a bit pricey but it's an A$$ kicker!
Absolutely LOL Seriously though, this dog is messed up in the head from what I hear. Gonna try to get him back home as quick as possible. May be in for a hell of a ride.
That’s the idea. Most dog problems stem from the owners. Usually can be fixed but not overnight. Surprised it’s not hotter down here.
Well, after mulling over several options, meet my new toy. I went to the stihl dealer and was looking at the ms250. However, stihl makes chains that do not fit any of their saws. I found that to be odd. Stihl will stock chains for other saw brands. Good to know. So, I went to my husky dealer and worked out a deal for the 445e II. At 45.7cc, it's about 5cc larger than my current 435. To move to the 50c 450 Rancher, would mean different chain than my backup saw. A little cooler temps, and off I go. Thanks for all the feedback, and options. Much appreciated.
Nice saw MikeInMa My first saw was a 445. Still runs great, no big maintenance ever. Pulls a 20” B/C no problem... keeps the ol’ back in a better position when limbing.
Ooh, a shiny new saw! Almost to purdy to get durdy. It should serve you well. Waiting on a update report after you get some time on it.
It'll get its first good workout at in new hampshire, at weldrdaves, if the weather and other factors cooperate, in a few weeks. I'm hoping to get some time on it before then, however.
