I've had a couple. CJ, zj, wj, and a couple of xj's have been in my family. They are fun to play with. What do you have done to yours?
I started with a '78 CJ5 in the late 90's. Eventually turned it into a rock crawler. Scout Dana 44 axles. Lockers. Scout T-19 granny 4 speed. Scout Dana 300 transfer case. Stock 304-V8. Coil sprung the rear axle, slid it back a foot. Sprung over front axle, slid forward 6 inches. Hydraulic steering. 36" Super Swampers. Etc. Next came a home built tube chassis in 2005. 2" DOM. All aluminum body except for a Jeep hood and grill. 4 seater. Votec 5.7L. Turbo 400 trans. NP 203/Dana 300 twin transfer cases, twin sticked. 2-1/2 ton Rockwell front axles both ends. Hydraulic 4 wheel steering. Lockers. Fox 16' coil-overs. Internal double bead locks. 49" Iroc Super Swampers. Etc. Down sized to a 1995 YJ 4.0L 2-1/2 spring lift. 31" tires. Trail rig for the local national forest. Crashed that one bad on the highway-- rolled, end-over'ed, who knows.... Now an '04 TJ 4.0L 2-1/2 spring spacers. 32" tires. Front axle locker. Bumpers. Winch. Etc. Used locally.
Jeeps seem to be a deep rabbit hole of their own. Kinda like what they say about boats. Boat=Bust Out Another Thousand In some way's I do understand the impulse, but I've got enough going on without another "hobby". Enjoy life and stay safe.
