Noticed the other day that it was no longer light out when I get up for work ...maybe a bit, but not fully like it was...winter's comin...might hafta scrounge up some firewood for this winter here in a couple months...so it has time to season n all...
I agree with you both 100%. Last week we had a sink drain line rot out in the basement. Old steel pipes and cast iron sewer lines are problematic. My arthritis limits me fro mooing this stiff anymore, and I was considering a plumber. Our married with three kids son said no way. He came over and replaced the lines into the cast iron with PVC. Cost was less than $80 and that included a new pipe wrench and pipe saw. Would have been $150 just for the plumber to walk in the door. Probably a $350 job. Took my son an hour to complete the job.
My friends that bought his 2015 screw 3.5eb said the exact same thing. That he should've ordered the bigger tank. We have 2 kinds of fuel perks programs. One is a max of 15g, the other 35g. I don't always fill it full with the 35g tank. While it essentially gets the same mpg as the Audi did ( better freeway mpg, but then I also tow the boat with the truck that I didn't do with the Audi) it also has twice the fuel tank size too. So I get to do less hand calculation of mpg, but the truck's mpg meters are pretty accurate. We didn't go to the lake today. We will tomorrow. Water softener will get installed, and other stuff will get done around the house today.
I agree on the gas tanks Chvymn99 , went from a 40 gal in the F250 to a ~27 gal in the Duramax. Even the 1/2 ton Blazer is 30 gallons. It was nice not having to fill up as often in the other two trucks and the duramax.
Definitely, you really need to do as much as you can yourselves for house repairs/ projects. You'd go broke if you didn't.
Was not on the forum yesterday. It was a busy day. Our son and his wife just left a little bit ago so we'll get back to normal (whatever that is) soon. Planted some radish in food plots this year. Neighbors have been praising the results they get with them so thought I may as well give it a try. Here is a picture I just got on one trail cam. You get money off of your gas based on how much you spend at grocery stores. Some expire, some don't. Scan your grocery store card first then they take so much off of your price per gallon. I got 30¢ off per gallon yesterday, and had to use it by the end of this month or those ones went away..
Dennis, do you shop at Kroger? Looks like the one is Osswasso has a fuel center. Here for every $ you spend at Kroger you earn fuel discounts on your "rewards card"--same card that gives you extra discounts on items. When I drove for a living I had a Sams Club membership, some clubs had fuel centers with discounted fuel, no points card or reward gimmick stuff, just your Sam's membership card. I wonder if Aldi has fuel pumps? Too bad you don't have Safeway there, I'd give you my points since we don't use them.
Kroger owns pickn'save, which is one of the ones that I use. The other store that does this is Piggly wiggly. So if you have Kroger, you can probably get fuel discounts. I've never seen an Aldi with gas stations.
Water softener installed. Glad I got that done. Now I'm just making sure I have the controller set properly.
