It is almost unheard of to be at 80* at midnight in my area - and that is what my weather station shows. Morning low is 74* with 78% humidity - so the AC's ran constantly thru the overnight. Can hardly wait to see the electric bill (but, better than melting thru the building heat and humidity). Eh, I just like to complain, I'm sure the electric bill will be no more than the highest winter bill (~$100). Since last month's bill was $45, it all balances out.

Off to clean a Bear and a rodent (not at the same time or place) then if the boss lugs Mr. Marlin out for me a chicken killer will be dispatched.

Same situation here. It was hot last night but comfy inside. Not cold, comfortable.

So, about 2-3 bucks a day in electricity to stay cool in this chit is how I look at it. People spend more than that at Starbucks on a regular basis-other people that is

The boss is after a grey rodent. We shall see what she gets, she was after a whistle pig and instead got a raccoon.

We really enjoy them. The stove is in the center of our home. Right in our seating area. love the flame, the smell of a new bag of pellets, It is a challenge, but I can use my walker to carry the pellets from the door to the stove. Our son keeps bags of pellets on the cart just outside our door. And then there is the heat. Can't beat heating with wood. Warms you up like nothing else. Just don't stand in front of the stove door any longer than necessary.

I used less $$ to heat with oil than I was heating with pellets. True I didn't keep it at 76 like it was heating from the basement den and I stayed out of the den.

Seems to be the trend lately oil has stayed reasonable and pellets have gone up in price. Overall a mix of the 2 has been in order here for the last few years

If I had AC for longer, and had any clue what it runs me in electricity per day, I wouldn't have nightmares about it. I didn't have any AC since I was 18 until last July (lets see, add the 1, carry two and some other magical math stuff and that comes up to 38 years). I actually bought the portable AC because I was keeping the kittens from going downstairs (they are called the Destructo Duo for a reason). If the kittens couldn't get downstairs, neither could my older cat, and I didn't want them to suffer in the heat. Even then it only ran it a couple hours in late afternoon to keep it at 80* in the living room (where the AC was situated). I think it added like $13 to July and August electric bills and then I didn't need it.

This year I'm doing things differently, so I imagine the worst ($100's per month) with them running on a more regular basis, for more hours of the day, and keeping the house at a cooler 74-75.

Well the boss said she isn't cooking me any supper, I guess I'll just have to make due with the lobster salad rolls and slime green pineapple salad, poor Bear.
