I may be mistaken, but I believe Scotty Overkill has a nice one.

8C793278-8833-427D-AAA7-85CBCF39CE57.jpeg I think I realized at least the darker orange stuff is Bradford Pear? It sure pops apart when I split it. The lighter colored wood look like the same bark.. maybe it was cut earlier so that it isn’t as orange? It doesn’t split quite the same, but maybe that is just because they are bigger rounds?
Since I gather that is more of a two year cure type of wood, does it make sense to stack out of a cover for the first year and then move it under a cover next spring, given my limited rack space?

    Welcome to FHC!

It's going to take a lot of bonzai trees to get to the three year mark.

1A7E3086-88A0-422D-8AEE-2E8F93048489.jpeg Hey look what I found today. It says something about it being EPA rated to 4.1 grams per hour, but nothing about a cat, so I am guessing it is just a tube stove.

My stacks are coming along... I’m certainly up to three year plan based on previous year’s consumption, but I have a feeling i’ll Be using more wood and less gas this winter. 5D31F8A3-97F5-4527-B463-FF36C44B5364.jpeg

Nice job!!! Keep it up. I just got a small "free" silver maple two doors from my home. The roots were pushing up her sidewalk so instead of fixing the sidewalk and cutting the one root out, she cut the whole tree down. :headbang:
She didn't want to be bothered.... Yuppies.... She didn't like "leaves either".... I got about a cord from that tree. I'm up to +4 years ahead now.

Trees with leaves are the worst.. don’t even get me started on needles.

I thought I had a bunch of silver to go through, but it turned out to be Norwegian maple, more btu’s for me. I’m guessing the Norwegian has about the same btu as red maple, but i’ve Seen conflicting stats on that. I’m saving some large chunks and rounds so I can split some when it is cold out instead of sweating through everything.

Did you drop the silver? Or just pick it up?

No, a tree service she hired dropped it. Did it all by bucket truck and brought it down in pieces, had a couple cable and phone lines close to it. I only had a two house walk, 140' with a wheel barrow. took me a few hours but I got it all. They had the machine that eats up all the branches and turns them into pulp/mulch. I was left with all the rounds about 4" and bigger.:)

Nice, I’ve had a couple wheelbarrow and (little red) wagon scores, but not a whole tree yet.

3FEF8D15-55B2-47A3-B295-B8F811CCD1F9.jpeg I stacked another 3 trunkfulls of red oak on the back stack. It’s getting a little tall and now I have oak on top of cherry which is not ideal, but on the plus side, it is up there in the sun and wind.

My Norwegian maple sandwich with white oak bread privacy fence. There is a jumble of white oak that is semi split next to a cut off pile.
The second stack is my softwood + a little silver maple
