It draws them in with the light. They get sucked in, and can't escape. There's no zappage with a dynatrap. If they can't get out, they can't breed. No food in there and they die.

I got my new boat trailer poles in the trailer. Well see how that helps after the boat is off the trailer tomorrow.

I also bought a new water softener tonight at schlot 's favorite place, Menards. Used a fuel discount to get 44 cents off a gallon for 15 gallons. So the truck has enough gas in it for a while. Don't tell the pups, but they are starting home tomorrow. I don't need them tripping me with my not so great ankles. I also want to just chill. Not have to babysit them.

I also got baffled breather grommets for the valve cover breather. I noticed after I run more than 2500 rpm for a while, that I get a little oil smell. I confirmed at the big lake last weekend that oil indeed drips from the breather onto the exhaust manifold after a few minutes of running at higher rpm.

These should do it. $5 for them. If not, I'll have to find a baffled valve cover set. The stock ones were baffled inside. These shiny chrome trick flow covers have no baffles. I could modify these, but I don't want to drill holes to mount a baffle.

It sort of keeps 'em at bay a bit. We're surrounded by woods, and some is a bit swampy. Kill some, more fill in the gaps. :picard:
I'll probably get another for the patio area, but next year.

I hope it all goes well Mate, and take it easy.

As for myself I am feeling fitter on the bike, but I haven’t lost any weight yet. My new bike is a dream to ride, it really is a lot of fun and encourages me to get out there and ride.

This week is a bust due to the weather. It’s cold, wet and windy. We have even had a few hail storms. I don’t want to get sick again after the flu I had last month and the fire in the stove is going, so the house is nice and warm. I hope the weather is better next week.

Thank you sir! Just busy with work in the spring every year.

I hope you live on high ground from what I was hearing about the spring you've been having. Sounds like it's been a little damp.

We do live on high ground...but the flooding hasn't been too bad right here locally...but not to far away there has been issues though...these storms have been very localized!

Same thing here. We are actually starting to see some drought stress signs in my little area. All of the storms coming through have been going around us.

We have dried out a bunch, but have still been getting some rain every 2-3-4 days...between these 90+ temps, and a little rain every few days, the late planted crops are just shooting up!

Have you tried a thermacell? We love those things! They do not kill the skeeters but do keep them away from you.

Sadly, I've noticed that. But believe it or not, it is presently 87 and still 77 in the house with no air on. But we may turn it on soon.

One of the problems with the units that draw skeeters is that if you place the units near the house many times you are making it worse. Better to keep them a good distance from the house.

I did get on the bike yesterday. It was tough sledding for sure. That bike used to move so freely... My legs were burning before I went very far but believe me, I did not go very far...

As for weight loss, it comes but one usually has to ride lots before it happens. It may trim you down but it also builds muscle and muscle weighs more than fat.

Oh yeah. We use one on the deck and it works very well. Occasionally we will see a Skeeter fly in, but it doesn’t bite. It just flies off and leaves us alone. I don’t know if they get disoriented by the scent or something else. The good thing is that we can’t smell it.

That’s what I was thinking to lower the population in the yard.

Yep, as evidenced by the swarm of white moths and skeeters around our front porch at night. It would be MUCH worse if it wasn't there, which is exactly why it is there.
However, they don't last long:thumbs:. I just blew out the trap again with compressed air. It'll be full again tomorrow. Rinse, repeat.
There's quite a pile of bodies under it too. A broom takes care of those.
Example: before the trap, any time we'd go outside and come back in, we had several skeeters make it in the house. Multiple times/day.
Now, there may be one or two that make it in every day. Our male Lab (Most know Casper by now) used to bring in multiple skeeters on his face and uh....belly area. Now, virtually none
If it wasn't working, I'd surely try your method.

I just bought this to try on the skeeterz...1 kit (2) is supposed to do an acre...attracts them and when they drink it makes the females sterile (if I understand it right) so it takes a few weeks to work at first, but then after that the only ones around are the "new guys" in the neighborhood. Same idea as the pucks that many cities put into open and stagnant bodies of water.
Since it is an attractant you are supposed to put them away from areas where you hang out. Might work good in conjunction with the Thermacell or one of the others that keeps the few remaining skeeterz away from you. They claim a 95% reduction in the population once established.
I paid $20 for a kit at Rural King of Ohio.

Found they're available at the Amish feed store about 40 minutes south of us. Might grab a kit next trip downstate. Thanks for that link.
I could put 'em on the east and one on the west side of the yard and see how that works. Kinda late in the season this year though, so I'd use 'em next spring.
