Here she is. Bench on upwind side but it never seems to matter, smoke goes everywhere.

    Great thread.
I like to have a large bonfire pit.
Mine started out the yr like this.
You can see the branch/lead on the cherry on the right with the rope/swing on it.
It came right over the fire pit and I've had it burning quite a few times.

I't hard to tell all that was done, but I would need a thread of my own for that.
Basically I took down the part of the cherry that was hanging over the fire after regrading a large portion of the back yard.

Then I had to rebuild the bonfire pit. After reading this thread I want the keyhole style added, and will need to find just the right rock for a swinging grate :).
I managed to get my pile of stumps all cleaned up, still need to get the lights back up, hopefully the grass will come in nice in the spring.

Yeah, we’re ok. With winter here, I look at the forum more often but just don’t say much. Haven’t been feeling very good so I guess that’s why.

Thrown together cinder block pit on the back of the property, mainly for burning junk for now. Wife says it has to go. IMG_20130907_150416_230.jpg
I built this 5 Years ago...sorry, it's the only good pic I have of it. It's still going strong. I plan on building a keyhole pit permanently in my yard this year.

You have to zoom in to see the fire pit. These are the only pictures I have of it, from outdoor movie night.

Yes and no. It was a relatively dry spring, so that helped cut the population down. I also have a fogger that I use a few hours before we go out, which helps tremendously. My neighbors pay Mosquito Joes to spray their yards.

Got home today around 3:15 pm, was close to 90 in NYC and LI. Hit the pool, and a couple of Coronas when I got home.
Got the fire pit rolling now warming the feet with some 2.5 year old red oak. What a difference dry wood make on a fire.
Yard smells fantastic and the boys are getting the marshmallows ready for roasting. Enjoy the evening everyone...
