Everyone's favorite, black roll pipe! After getting the wrong size while in town when I went into town with my wife to get my son, I made a second trip to get one more connector which I didn't have . I thought it was larger than it was cause the pipe wall thickness was twice that of what you buy at Lowe's . Edit: it must be 200 psi pipe unlike the 100 I have.

It had a galvanized pipe compression fitting I think on it. So I am surprised this thing lasted the 30 years or so that it did.
Edit: after looking on YouTube it looks like it is a black pipe compression fitting. But it was missing the little metal insert to keep it from collapsing when the screw was tightened.

Going to leave it exposed for a few days to make sure a leak doesn't develop and then cover it back up. It's not fun digging through almost a foot of gravel, bricks and hunks of concrete. IMG_20190627_175840349_HDR.jpg 18012.jpeg

Little bit of fun this afternoon....
Boss calls me on his way back from Denver- "Fire right behind your place!! 100 acres at least!!" Oooo-K..... yup, fire 2 ridges over from me. 10 acres max from the live feed I saw. Then the other calls started pouring in. I had to calm everyone down, it was comical to me.
Got home, little bit of smoke here but nothing much. Had a few helicopters fly over on their water drop passes so that was cool.

I will go to Lowe's I guess and replace that 100psi pipe with a short piece of the 200 that they sell

Clinically, not sure I've ever been "Ok", but that's another story.... ;)

House and property are in good shape. I'm very defensible here, as far as wildfire goes. Been outside smelling that "smell", love the wildfire smell.

edit- Just had the big Sikorsky fly over the house, took some good pics.

It's been in the 90's a couple of times at work (Nashua). Was 92 when I got out this afternoon. 89 here at the house today - and that ain't the first time. I have no idea what it has been like earlier this week as I was in PA for work. but you're right, only humid days have been 75* or less.

Amazing the difference a few miles makes. Two towns east and it was a max of 86F that's the warmest it's been yet here.

Nice phone call to start the day, the direct ISP a company promised was being built, but then after year after year went by and I gave up on it..... actually happened and is ready :) Installation is week from Monday. Internet speed will skyrocket, and I will go 15 gb maximum data for $130/month to unlimited data for $65/month. Looking forward to learn about streaming and other fast internet things, but yikes I will have a large learning curve:whistle: Whether I use new features or not, it will still save almost 1/2 my monthly bill!!

Hope they stay ontop of that Beetle-Kill , glad it's not late summer drought after the wet winter and spring where undergrowth went crazy.

On another note, it made it to 80* here today after summer was a no show til today, 30% rh here, but is gusty, and when the it's not blowing the mosquitos are too thick.

    WWW's truck today, eeeeeeeewwww!

Far Out! It appears Dish Network no longer has HBO. Crazy! Doing my monthly bill $$ creeping up switch every 2 years (woops behind over a year this time) for the "New Customer Only" package. W e i r d no HBO.

Yeah if you don't have the stainless steel stiffener inserts, those compression couplings can be sketchy on plastic...but work well with them in. BTW, that looks to be brass, not galvanized...and brass is the way to go when dealing with buried lines, that or stainless steel.
Replacing that splice with 200 PSI line is a good idea, use brass or stainless barbed fittings as mentioned...also, make sure those hose clamps are 100% stainless steel...some aren't, the screw is steel...and it will be a failure point in the future...BTDT.
There are lots of good ones out there...just don't cheap out on the repair parts and you'll be fine...I like these "all stainless" clamps...well, as far as this type of clamp goes anyways...

    They we
They didn't have the steel inserts. that fitting is brass. I thought it was a fitting for galvanized pipe though, not till I saw a YouTube video after the repair I saw that it could be used.

They are stainless clamps from Lowe's. I think it said #16 or #20 stainless. They were more expensive the higher the number so I assumed it was better the higher it goes.

I used plastic Barb's but I have never had an issue with them before. I will replace the 100 splice pipe with 200.

The number tells you the size...the higher the bigger hose it will work on.
I can't say the same...I've have had more plastic fittings crack than I can count.
It will probably be fine for a while though...at least your water lines are not 4-5 ft deep like they are around here!

Probably have to go to a plumbing supply house to get those...and some of those will only "wholesale" to business' and contractors...our local place only recently started selling to the general public...due to financial pressures I'd guess...

Well I thought it looked like they clamped the same size but just had different numbers? But I thought that was how it was too. Cause stainless grades are numbers like 340 and 440 as far as quality .

The only place I know about within 50 miles of me (I know the owner) said he didn't sell that stuff anymore. And he didn't know what I was talking about when I said a compression fitting thing he was like you can't clamp a flexible hose. He said you use Barb's. But I think they are more electrical supplies than plumbing but have some. There could be another store somewhere in town I just don't drive around the town much and I'm not from here.

We went to the opening night of Summerfest last night to see "Walk the Moon" and the fireworks. It was a beautiful night. Yes, the first few hours of work today sucked, due to the late night. Totally worth it though, as the fireworks were the best I've seen in years and the band was awesome.
