Day 4 with a little fire in the morning again.

We have had some fairly nice weather this SPRING and now the start of SUMMER
    At least by my account.

We had some HOT weather a week or so ago with 90+ F for a few days, but we are now in a pattern of cloudy cool mornings with some late afternoon clearing.
Later today some showers maybe some T storms, and similar through the week.

AC been on a bit even during the cooler days, usually late afternoon when the sun hits the west end of the house from 3 pm until about 7pm

Costs us far more to cool this barn than to heat it.... :(

Hope you enjoyed that. I sneak a beer, small one, every 3-4 months. I make sure I am not close to my med times. Those meds raise hell with me. Small wonder I am always tired and depressed. Walking short distances now with a Canadian crutch. ( like to the car, or into a restaurant. Using stairs is very limited. But I do still swim at the indoor pool at the VA.

Oh, I've enjoyed the three summer ales I've had so far this year. BP isn't going so damm low these days we have the amlodipine at 3.75 and metop is back down to 100 twice daily. I can ride as far as I like on the goes nowhere as long as I don't go for a speed record.

My Google Chrome was waaaaaaaaaaaay outdated (Version 52xxxxx) and was being refused by my banks.

    Arrrrrrrrgh
Decided to update it in the linux.

New version 75xxxxxxx would not do zip.

Basically a framed white page...had the address bar but nothing worked.

I tried several deletes and reloads (Command line too) to no avail.

Finally got version 56 to work just fine.

    What a PITA

Hey Pete how did your humdinder of a fLU vaccine do:

ATLANTA (AP) — The flu vaccine turned out to be a big disappointment again.

The vaccine didn't work against a flu bug that popped up halfway through the past flu season, dragging down overall effectiveness to 29%, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday.

The flu shot was working well early in the season with effectiveness put at 47% in February. But it was virtually worthless during a second wave driven by a tougher strain, at just 9%.

Oppsy. The wife and I really loved it, NOT.

You gotta upload the original version (which was probably upside down. For some reason, it won't show the edited version correctly.

My computer got a light blue screen right as I posted this. Think the graphics card went because it will still handle the internet/wifi connection, but only get a very light blue from screen. I hooked the screen to my work laptop, and it worked fine - working fine for my home laptop now. Now do I try to get it fixed or do I get a new desktop and have them put in my current HD as a slave? My luck, I'll get it fixed and it will toast itself in a month or so. Great timing since I have property taxes due in a couple of weeks - but when is timing ever good? Fortunately I'm lucky enough that no matter which way I go, it won't put me in a financial bind - just knocks back some plans for a bit.

There always something getting in the way of plans :zip: :p :D

Thats a tough call B. Many variables here as in how old is the current desktop and what hardware/OS ?

If its older, just get a new one-maybe a laptop?

I kept beating on things until I went in and did "Kill Chrome" from the terminal.

Reinstalled the old version and it worked.... ?????????

Deleted the old one again and tried version 59xxxxx and bingo...all "MORE GOODER"
I probably need to update the Linux.

My cellular internet service is OK but it will not stay stable long enough to get a big file downloaded and glitch free.

    Anyway...the plot thickens...

Got things running smooth on the Chrome 59 and things seem great.

Pop in here at 0 dark thirty this morning and flip the puter on.... no screen.

    Stinking big screen died.

    DOA, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA

Looked on Craigs for a good used one.

$200 to the$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$moon for used 43 to 55 inch HD screens.

Went to Best Buy and picked up a 50 inch Sharp 1080P for $278 and that included a 5 year fix it or a new screen warranty.

Was not gonna spend a dime on old castoffs when a fresh one in the box was that affordable.

Was at my fav truck forum... snapped a piccy

The picture is sweet and the sound is fantastic...

Gonna recycle the old 42 incher.

A huge difference between a 42 and a 50 inch screen when using it for a computer monitor.

My Son in law came over and helped me get the new one back on the wall swing mount.

That 50 incher is not heavy, but getting the hooks on the bracket connected takes an extra set of eyes.....
