Strange main house drain clog in front yard sewer line?

    Buyer beware.
    I bought one of those to check my clay stack for the
    basement fire place.
    If the camera is not absolutely still for a few seconds,
    you just see fuzz. I tried mounting it to a 1x2....
    did not help. I found it to be worthless.

    I sent it back.

    Here is a video shot with this camera.
    Did you tie it to a snake and add balls and mag light on windows 10?

    No snake, balls or mag light.
    Worked fine w/Win10.

    I mounted it on a 1x2, trying to stabilize it.
    I was trying to look at the inside of my clay stack.
    It would never focus.

    If you have Prime. you can just send it back.

    You could rent one for half a day if the little camera doesn't work. :coldone:

    Renting would be cheaper!
    I just found out that running a snake is $549 if they have to go in through the toilet Flange by removing the toilet or $429 if there is a cleanout handy. Well I have an easy to undo clean-out in the floor and the 25 foot Lowe’s $18.48 snake that I can attach to my drill works just fine!

    The local profession roto rooter man’s camera TV view cost $379.00 so I will try the $27.00 lap top camera since as of Sunday everything is draining fine!

    I have septic. My original system died about 7 years ago when it was about 70. Sewage is never fun.

    Thanks for asking.
    The clog mysteriously went away a day after I dug up the pipe about 8 feet from the front of the house.
    The outside of the pipe looked fine so I left the hole open for a week and the clog never came back!
    So I filled in the hole and it has been fine!
    Maybe when I stuck the snake thru the clog and I could feel that if did, then the next day the clog broke free and is gone. Never had a chance to put the camera in and luckily never had to pay RotoRoter for their $429 snake run either. :)

    I was thinking that maybe that flapper in the old iron pipe either broke loose and wedged itself or got stuck like my neighbor and that nudge I gave it was enough to make it jar loose and wash away. Very strange. My neighbor had to pay $1500 to have the section of the wedged flapper replaced!
