    amateur cutter did I read that you have/use a maasdam rope puller?

    I've been using a regular 2 ton cable come-a-long with rope and straps, but the maasdam puller seems very much more suited to the task.

    Got 4 loads of maple as well as the beech & ironwood today.

    Unload the last load and see this.

    :doh::hair::hair:

    Must've ran afoul of a large rock and kicked the tire off the rim.

    Eh.. guess it'll wait till tomorrow.

    Think I'll relax with a :pete::coldone:

    Then hook on to the trail mower and putter around for a while.

    Short video of the log trail coming down with second load.

    I usually have both hands engaged, but thought I'd show how wet things are up on the hill.

    Looks like quite a bit of progress... keep chucking away at it... yep, looks like you’ve had your share of rain...

    A bit at a time.

    I only put in a few hours at a time.
    Yep, I'm a bit of a slacker.
    :emb:

    It may be that I'm no serious enough about the wood hoarding, but I'll make it through.

    The springs up on the hill keep flowing most of the year. It has always seemed funny/odd that in the driest months, the springs at the top of the hill still flow.

    Not sure why the water would be forced to that elevation, but I'm no geologist.

    Yup. Looking at the video I figured along with the rain there would be springs up there. Very common.

    Looks like a nice lane and a pleasant place to cut wood.

    Yeah, I think there's like 7 or 8 springs on top, and some lower as well.

    I do enjoy cutting on the hill as it's usually 5+°F cooler than down here.

    Fixed the tire up, and as suspected, checked air pressure on the other tire, ~6psi.
    :picard:

    I really need to include the cart in routine maintenance.
    :whistle:

    Tire pressure is 24psi now, and lubed the spindles as well.

    Yeah, lower quality tires like that on your cart, a wheel barrow, even bicycle tires lose pressure rapidly. At least they do today with everything made in China. Seems I'm constantly pumping up my utility and bike tires.

    Sorry Chaz , missed this earlier. I don't have a rope puller. I use a 150' 12K bull rope & one of my winches or a come a long if no equipment on site. The rope pullers are really slick though.

    I’ve got one and it’s awesome!!! Think I’ve got 200’ of 3 strand rope with it. Hole shootin’ match fits in one bag

    No issues amateur cutter
    :)

    Thx J. Dirt
    :thumbs:

    I've used my 2T come-a-long in the past, but I seldom take it and rope up on the hill, but pulling down the leaner it surely would have helped.

    I also find the cable length lacking for certain tasks, so when I saw an arborist U-Tube video of the maasdam puller, I thought that would be a great tool to put in the "box".

    If I was cutting more standing timber or pulling wood up to me... I’d be checking into one more seriously... I’ve looked at the a couple of times...
