I was at a friend's Friday night campfire on his patio last night.

We were talking trucks. I'm glad I didn't say anything disparaging about Honda Ridgelines. As I was leaving I realized that one of the guys had one. I have to feel sorry for him, but then maybe he doesn't need anything more than a minivan with a pick up bed? I know he doesn't have a boat, or cut firewood, or hunt, or do anything other than hockey dad stuff. I also know that far too many people buy pick up trucks and they really don't need them.

Got some clover planted yesterday. Should not be hurting for moisture. I've never planted clover at this time of the year but conditions seem to be about right so it is in the ground. We'll see what happens now. Saw lots of deer and several fawns while I was working. So, I got around and set out a couple of trail cams too.

Agreed. That's why most of us who need a truck can barely afford 1.

Did anyone here have any friends or family in that horrible motorcycle melee in New Hampshire? Still short on details but from the pictures it appears a truck and trailer left it’s lane. 7 died at the scene. Thoughts and prayers to all.

The riders were from MA - former Marines Jar Head MC that was having their yearly outing up north. Terrible situation. The driver of the truck is 23 - so unlikely to be a medical issue (although one never knows).

Very sad accident. It was a beautiful day to be out on the road and that tragedy happened.

I cut the lawn earlier today and took a walk out back with the binoculars. I saw a nice doe out in the back clearing.

I got behind that clump of bittersweet and walked slowly away. Next thing i she closed the gap.

I watched her for a few minutes and she started stamping her feet and snorting. She bolted off. I started walking back and I hear more snorting and there she is. She quartered to the right and was just inside the brush. She is in the center of the pic.

She took off after that. I was impressed as she looked formidable snorting and stamping her feet.

I've noticed the toms and hen turkeys are no where to be found. I think they are on nests or have pouts now. The single birds are hanging in loose flocks with the Jakes trying to impress the ladies. I'm sitting in the driveway with bino''s waiting to see if I can get another look at the doe. Game cam has been out. One or two bucks with antlers underway.

We sure are. Lots to do around here, but to sit outside and enjoy the evening, is hard to beat.

Spent the day on the lake with the pups and my wife in my boat. The dogs are very tired.

I'm still getting used to the new truck while backing up the boat. I found that when retrieving the boat with an empty trailer, that lowering the tailgate really helps a ton. I can actually see the trailer then. My wife has driven the truck only with the boat on the trailer from the launch to the parking lot, and she likes it. She would drive the 4runner with the boat on the trailer the same way you pulling it from the lake.

Way back in the day when I had a boat, I did the tailgate down trick until I cut the wheel to much and dented the tailgate with the trailer.

I thought about BB and the other NH members too, so glad you checked in bogieb :)

'Cause it was Saturday night I guess that makes it alright, what are you going to do!?!" Living vicariously from my younger years  , tonight is still computer work, a Robert Redford movie on the TV, dusk here now so dialing light etc. down for kiddo.

We have an odd BOOM sound here frequently the last week or so. I assumed gunshots or fireworks, or wind blowing something against the house but tonight is dead calm. Also 40* and misting outside so fireworks not likely nor target shooting in the dark. We had an electrician out to run 240v to the pole barn, I wondered about the power pole but wouldnt the whole house be affected? IDK, a few new neighbors (vacation homes for them) are here so it actually could be fireworks, but these are BIG booms.

    Happy Saturday Eve Hoarders.

With this boat trailer, that would be very difficult to do.

Boy, I dunno what's going on here lately...first my high school buddy stops in for a visit, on the way to his uncles calling hours. Then I get a text on Friday that a former co-workers dad passed suddenly at age 51...and while looking up his calling hours I find out my high school buddys grandma just passed too! And before I got out of the obits section, I stumbled across my former brother in laws obit! :hair::tears:
At least I didn't find my own name too...
