I have one trap and depending upon the bait I get skunks, raccoons , opossums, porcupines, woodchucks, or cats.

Actually, eagles are not very smart, and seem to be one of the birds that does not judge "flying" weight very well. Always have some here, most of the year, they carry off the rock chucks I shoot.

OH, Happy fathers day to all you fathers. I never had children, that i know of, but helped raise and pay for 5 over the years, from ex girlfriends and ex wife. Only 1 calls me regularly, so guess I did not do a good job. I did remember to call my Dad, he was going outside to repair a fence, he is in his 80's.

K The P68 Harman I bought and gave to my BIL/Sister, he already installed it. He did not raise the hearth, the old St Croix outlet was much higher, he redid the outside wall. Asked him "why?" he said, since I told him about the extended hopper I am building for my stove, he wants one, but bigger than the ones made for the P68, so he decided to have the stove at floor level, to have a higher extension. They only used it 2 times, very happy, quiet and immense heat. Well, except, he is away, so sister told me tonight she turned it on(she loves the auto igniter). BIL is down at the "Custer battlefield" where they have the reenactment yearly. He took 2 horses this year, leases them out, and spends a week training/teaching people about the "era". Then preps them for the yearly reenactment, which is supposedly filmed each year? Anyway, they are doing very well this year, the way the economy is going,I am very happy for them.

OH, since I got back from my trips, picked up the "box" for my Accentra extended hopper. He charged me a bit more(150), but I noticed all 4 corners of the box were welded. Asked him about that, all his huge bending equipment is older(from his grand dad and father) and does not have the capability to bend all the 90 degree corners, and then bend the whole box,and remove it from the bender. He said next one would have to be 200 bucks, to be fair to him. The inside pieces i need were bent wrong, turns out my fault, on my technical drawings, he quickly bent out 2 more, did not charge me more, even though i tried to pay more. Might have to do with the fact he,his wife,me and about 12 other people used to snowmobile together for quite some years. Smaller town people always the best. So,I showed him the rest of my plans for this unit, and offered it to him, told him you would be lucky to sell 1 a year, he declined, even though I told him I would post the plans here. Looks like rain all weekend, I may work on it this weekend.I will document it all, to post here. And as BIL wants a large hopper extension for his new P68, will document it, when I get to that project.

The damm feeder deflects a 7/16 threaded steel rod.

    Its a fire day :D
We have an unseasonably cool air mass and showers today.
    Fired off wee stove.

I am loving the new controller.

Stove just runs 1000% smoother than with the old control board.

    Easier startup
Fire stays up and going 100% on low setting without the annoying smoking while the fuel drop smothers the coals every so often.

Fire is lively and just sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet... :D
