Apparently it's national bourbon day. As if we needed an excuse, right?

Last night I got pretty loopy on margaritas that my wife made. She's getting really good at making them. She used patron yesterday, but the much less expensive Jose cuervo works well in margaritas. Despite that, I installed the brackets for the self watering planter boxes that we wanted to put up below the two garage windows. They are even level. Amazing. Lol. We'll get these filled up with flowers today.

I also got a couple more of the metal backsplash tiles installed. There's just a few left to install, but most of them require intricate cuts. The worst will be the ones I need to cut lengthwise from 1.5" wide pieces onto 3/4" ones. A band Saw would be the proper tools. Instead I have to make sure with a Dremel and mini cut off wheels. Getting a straight cut with that freehand is not easy. Luckily I only have about 2.5' of those thin cuts I need to make.

I'll attempt to get that clutch installed this weekend. I'll have to get creative....

Yes. They honestly hare as happy if a kid brings a $1 bill or a $20. They don't judge at those places. If each kid brought only a dollar it adds up. But some parents will always give two or a five or a ten or a twenty. You give what you can afford or not hurt your household.

If you want to be more objective than that. Think about what they did for them. They do it to pass the word of God on, despite the cost. But if you want to help with the cost, like I said think about it. Did they feed them dinner each night? Did they give her a shirt, they usually give a goody bag at the end of the week. Figure maybe a few dollars a meal each night, $10 for a gift at end, mine got like a shovel and a bucket one year and a few other things one year, a shirt might be like $4, $20 for curriculum (I have no idea?). So I think $20 would honestly go a long way to cover many of the costs of the cash outlay. Not cover the total cost...I'm just trying to give you an idea. But honestly it's give what you can. I usually have my son a few dollars to sometimes a few quarters each day (he loves shiny quarters and doesn't exactly understand that those pieces of paper are more valuable).

Daughter started too early, but we got an AWESOME Gson who's turned into a fine young man.
We have a sign around here somewhere that says..."Grandkids are the reward you get for not strangling your kids".

Rain seems to really like us this year. Just stopped about an hour ago for the day. Should be nice tomorrow, which means we'll probably set up some chairs, etc. on the patio.

Yesterday was very nice out. I sat outside on the back steps at dusk looking for bats and surprisingly saw none. The tall field grass patch in the side yard had fireflies climbing up and flying about. I did get to watch the moonrise.

Today was trips to storage to get more house items. I have one workbench up in the basement and I will start the second one. Finally starting to feel like home here.

Made up some pork chops in the cookpot for supper tonight. About time to eat them.
The rain held off until 3:00. Managed to get a little garden work done.
My initial planting of corn didn't go well. I transplanted some of the stocks. Out of six rows, I got 3 rows. I hope the transplanting works.
Tilled the peas under. They didn't do worth a crap. Sowed 3 rows of early corn where they were. I also sowed 5 additional rows of corn in my extra space. If everything works out I should have 11 fifteen foot rows of corn. I will be wading in it.
Got to go get my fishing rod and raincoat rounded up. My son is treating me to a lake Erie fishing trip for fathers day. Fingers crossed. Some rain tomorrow, but waves only 1-2 feet.

Backwoods Savage I never thought about a deer getting caught up in the bird feeder, but if the bear would leave the dang thing alone, it's not on the ground.

    But certainly something to consider.

Canadian border VT I'm sure you are, and have good reason to be proud of your daughter.

She is standing up for those that can't.

The world could use more people that have the courage to intervene, rather than stand back and video it for the web.

Found this by the doorway this morning. Thought it was dead until stuck its head out and snapped at me. LOL. It was bigger that it looks. I was going to move it but thought better of it.:)
