Pics. from Saturday’s sight seeing excursion ( when we really should have been at the gtg. Visiting all the fine folks.)
Farmchuck you brought your wife to consider move to North East.. You had to show her the beauty of it!!!
I've been up to NH about 6 or 7 times in the last two years and still haven't driven it yet! I will next year though...
A few pic's fishingpol kitchen, many discussions, the passing of the sign and the fire. Oh Yea! Midwinter heading out for the Locust Thanks again to Brian and Dawn!
Nice fire pic!!! I knew I'd end up in the front row. Everyone backed up from the fire, to where I was sitting. .
Take the cog rail up. We did it last year for the first time, awsome trip to actually see the incline it takes.
Height, like being on a ridge or road that open to a drop on one side is not for me. I have driven past the entrance to the mountain road and never had the desire to drive up the mountain. While in the military I rode on helicopters. Side doors opened like a van. My seat was a bench facing out the door. The toe area of my boots faced outward on the doors edge. I had a safety belt and felt secure all the time. We flew anywhere from a few feet up from the water on river streams to as high as 5-6 thousand feet above populated areas. But driving on the edge of a mountain makes me feel ill and my feet to ache. I get to enjoy it by viewing pictures, like the magnificent pictures Farmchuck shared. (thank you)
I agree. We went up to the top on a clear September day, a few years ago. We bought tickets and went up in one of their vans. Saved on transmission and brakes. We were told that there are times people have driven up, but are hesitant to drive down. So, a van driver has to get up there and drive the person's vehicle back down.
Its a thrill alright-especially for whoever is in the passenger seat if you are on the way up passing a down traveling car near the top
My first time I've driven up, the shaking in my legs were nearly uncontrollable. I've never had that happen before. This was years ago. Now im a bit better at it. Been up probably 5x times now. What a rush! Hoping to do the ATV ride, this is one day they close the road just for atvs & SX's. I miss it every time because it sells out!
Same here, it gets easier. First time up I had 2 fighting teenagers in the back seat-I almost came unglued
