Over the weekend I worked on a pile of tree service wood. Four trailer loads and darn near every piece needed to be cut to stove length. Cutting is done, time for splitting.
Good saw time for sure... at least they all look clean log length and not a lot chunks of forks or branches...
Nice pile of work In the process now of cutting up a smidge of tree service pieces I scrounged. Cutting off the angles and making 16 -18” pieces out of it. Feel your pain. You’ll have a nice collection of uglies. But hey, free wood, always good.
Nice rdust. Sorry you have to re-saw those though. That is not so much fun. I see a few odd cuts in there but overall does not look too bad.
From the look of those you will be splitting with the splitter in the vertical position, at least till everything is manageable. Lots of hard work there my friend!
Nice work rdust , I'll always ask the tree guys to leave it log length if they can. Sometimes it works & sometimes not. Got two of those jobs to try & get done this weekend. I hate cutting a few inches off a bunch of rounds.
Same here, the tree trimmer stuff I get leaves me with a lot of odd lengths. The cut offs all still get burned.
rdust , I always thought I cut a lot of wood in a couple of days, but you got me beat. It does help with it all being wide open.
Not really sure, I already processed a cord of pine out of the loads a while back. I’m guessing there might be three or four more not counting the uglies that will get tossed in bins. Time will tell.
i dont know which is more annoying? That or the little piece of sawdust that gets in your socks and pokes you in the ankle!
