Cut some hackberry and red oak today. I’m not the most motivated wood hoarder when it’s hot out but I try to do a little early in the morning on Sundays before the family gets woke up. This will keep me busy splitting and stacking for a while. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
im not the most motivated either in the heat myself Slocum . NICE setup and shelter as well. Keeps you shaded and out of the rain as well.
Looking good Slocum ! Hot weather ya just gotta work when you can & take breaks. Humid weather needs to be shipped to T.Jeff Veal down in Georgia, he loves it.
You've got a real nice setup there Slocum , good for you at getting something done. I have picked up a couple of truckloads of wood this past week. I may wait until fall to c/s/s, unless we have a cool spell that occurs when I have time off.
Yep, looking gooder there, nice shelter, should funnel a breeze pretty well. amateur cutter ,we have to take it as we get it. You see what I do, gets hot, turn on lights and fans and split after dark or in the mornings, not gonna let it defeat me...least I can feel my hands and feet when it's hot...
Feeling your hands and feet doesn’t help when you drop a big round on them. Us yanks got this figured out LOL That’s why we howl when we thaw out next to the stove
At least you get to work in the shade. I cut and split all summer out in a field. Glad it hasn't gotten hot yet...only a couple days over 85 so far.
Ya I might do a bit of working on the fire wood in that shed but best be wearing a flack jacket and steel pot, if doing so while the family slept. I can see the qusent funneling the breeze thru there and the noise right to the house wakeing the fury of god with her own wooden ball bat or stocked shot gun. Nope take me deep into the woods well away from the house when the wife is sleeping. Not even realy sure that would work. she can hear a neddle drop in the carpet when she is sleeping. Just isn't safe to wake her, I once mistakeingly thought I was safe rolling stain on the house early in the morning while she slept. OH boy took me a over a week to heal. Al
Alarm clock, how many retired people do you know with a working alarm clock. But when beauty is sleeping you don't go making noise. I learned many years go I can keep her awake well into the night safely but to wake her from sleep NO WAY. Al
This morning temps were in the 50's, perfect weather to cut a little bit of wood. I had a couple of stumps I needed to cut off, a red oak and a white oak. I put my 20" bar with skip chain on my 029 super and cut both stumps. The white oak stump looks bad because that is the tree that broke off/ barber chaired about 3-4 feet above ground. I still need to get the pieces of white oak out of the woods but I did get the red oak stump out, cut in half and chunked up enough to put it on the splitter. I threw in a pic of wild geraniums as well.
Hey I’m retired and still have an alarm clock. It’s been blinking 12 noon for more than two years Drives the girlfriend crazy but I like it that way. Constant reminder I do what I want when I want.
When we get the big shed full, it will be working in the sun after that. I do have an umbrella if I can figure out how to mount it .
