Just not worth the effort. Back into the woods it goes. Let the critters enjoy it. 79A104F9-8734-4E8D-8DDD-1848076254FB.jpeg F35BBB9A-451E-4935-88FA-564ECFFED83B.jpeg

:eek::eek::eek: I don't know. Some here might want to check your hoarder's card.

It's a beast, for sure. Big and gnarly. Like a few people I know.

MS 660 with a 36" bar & make her into firewood. Couple hours & it's in the stacks.

Hahaha I know I’m skating on the edge here. Just decide this morning before attacking it with the saw that it’s just not worth the trouble. Has that dead punky thunk to it when you tap on it. If it were decent wood I’d have at least taken a few bites out of it.
Didn’t want to bring it home anyway. Let’s just say I got cheated on a scrounge by a friend. Was supposed to get all the decent wood and in return I’d remove this chunk of punk. Good wood disappeared and this was left.
Drove away and let it sit in his yard until I couldn’t take the whining anymore.

    I’ll pay for shipping on that 660 ;) :)
I probably have 10 years of solid white and red oak to process. For three houses. This old swamp maple can go right back to the swamp ;)

Nah it’s punky. Hit it with the chainsaw to fit it in the arch and black ants came out in hordes.

Yeah I don't blame you there. If it requires me to split it vertically then I get fed up pretty quick.

Close, very close. It has some hollows. I brought it into the woods near my sisters house. She feeds possums every night. Figured they may want it for a house or just a snack bar.

Well, that changes my opinion 180 degrees. You're a better friend than me, I'da charged accordingly to haul that sucker off after getting stiffed. Yes I'm politely ignoring the offer on my MS 660.
    Bahahaha!

Somebody loan him a big saw and splitter please. Midwinter would split that with a Fiskars hatchet.
