The only dislike I have of that saw, is the single bar nut. I know a lot of smaller saws run one nut.. But I would have loved to see a 2nd one. :)

Other than that?? I can't wait to see it in action on Saturday! !

I hate that one bar stud too, but we'll see how it holds up. We need to start breaking that cute little guy in!

I see 61 links on that 18" bar ................... figures, right between the 62 and 60 we are using on the other saws. I bet that 61 link will fit the 024/026's 16" 3003 bar fine.

I am looking at one of these for the business. The MS 250 I got 4 years ago for free is needing near constant attention to keep it running. Time is money and a change is in order and I can relegate the 250 to backup for whatever I buy. But is the 241 really worth the extra $200 plus dollars over say a 251. Stihl only says it has pro "features". But then only talks about the mtronic and pro power levels. What else is pro grade on the saw that would let it be run everyday and sometimes all day for years on end? And is the oiler adjustable?

Nice little saws. It's built like the 261 more so than the 251. Split mag case and removeable cylinder instead of a clam shell design.

I haven't been paying attention to newer saws. Is that style of air filter getting to be standard?

So it is mag at the chain adjuster? Sort of looks like it but can't tell 100%. It is supposed to rain next couple of days so I might go in and take a look , but it would be nice for some info going in.

    Yes!

I have another vid that goes into details. Just need to get it edited and uploaded. Never enough time! Also have one of it in action tearing down a small tree in my front yard.

FF, I have not run a MS251 but just holding them you can feel the difference in build quality. Having run this little saw through 1/2 a tank, I can say this: Given the option, I would never pick up an MS250 (a saw I like and have considerable experience with) over this saw. Is it worth $200 more? The CAD junkie in me screams hell yes. :saw::saw::saw:

Stihl has really stepped up their game as far as filtration is concerned. So much so that IMO, they have surpassed Husqvarna in certain model categories.

They have a few different filter designs out now but pleated paper elements and rubber sealing surfaces are common to all of the saws from the 241 on up.

Guys, this is one of the most impressive stock saws I have had the pleasure of owning. Its a toss up between this and the 550 as far as the "Wow" factor goes (considering the size of both saws).
I wouldn't pay any mind to the single bar stud, it works. This saw doesn't feel exceptionally light in the hands, until you pick it up against some other saws. The price is a little hard to swallow for a 40cc saw, BUT- the build quality is VERY VERY good, and you wont feel like it was money "wasted".

I am not knocking the 543XP, but I can tell you this... The fit, feel, and finish on the 241 is MUCH better. I would not buy a 543 over a 241 for the price, period. I do get a little better deal than MSRP, and I haven't priced "my" price on a 543 so I cant say for certain that I wouldn't try a 543... But hands down this 241 has such a quality, fit, and feel to it. I don't think it would be a bad idea for Stihl to offer this saw with a standard carb for a bit of a discount over the C, even though I would be buying the C model again if I were to buy another.

Given mtronic what do replacement carbs cost? Are they worth rebuilding? I think I am on carb # 3 with the 250. Will these last longer than the cheapie saws with ethanol and whatnot? I am getting into cost of ownership here.

CAD means nothing in terms of this purchase, it is a worksaw that will live in the truck tool box. Employees will run it.

Carbs cost the same for the mtronic as they do for the others. I think there's an extra module on the mtronic but I'm going from memory right here.
