OK, so I have never figured out how to know the right chain to use on a saw. I like the Oregon LPX chain on my Poulan, and would like to get a couple loops of the same as spares for my new Jonsered CS2255. It is a 20 inch bar. So, be nice, I am still very much an amateur. Can anyone help me figure it out?
You'll need to know if the bar is a .325 or 3/8 bar. And you'll need to know the number of (70-82ish) and width of (.050, .058, .063) the drive links. LPX has pointed rakers and is a good chain, available in both 325 and 3/8. That info is usually etched into the bar
Czed, did you try it out before sending it away? I ask because I want to know if you can really tell the difference before and after.
That's impressive. I started my new 2166 this spring to make sure it would run and get some lubrication to the bar and engine but I haven't put it into any wood yet.
I'm too lazy to do that stuff I just like a strong falling saw i don't race or anything. I actually never liked xt saws not my favorite But good saws. It was the least impressive 70cc saw i own I have over a dozen 2 and three series. I actually bought it to convert it to oe style But dj on ope has a good runner So i had him port it I'll get it back this week.
Cutting poison ivy covered dead ash the 2166 is doing great strong running saw running a 8 pin And handfiled archer chain
