Hey buddy! I'm am curious if your sander handled any frozen sand or how it handled any "bridging ". Been looking at them here and there is a fix among a loop of chain to carve out any sand better. That stew looks banging!
It has a screen on top to keep the chunks out, we bought some 60 pound bags of sand (that worked great) we also used our sand off our lot which needed to be screened better. It has a agitator on the inside bottom of the spreader that should keep the sand flowing. It also has two gates that you can bolt the handles together so both gates open at the same time, I can reach that control from my seat.
I'll get you some better pictures tomorrow along with better info, once everything was over I did a real good cleaning and then put it in the garage. The backhoe will go on this coming week.
I sent everything thing through convo, we went through the local Mahindra dealer who had one sander in stock. The wife was sick of me sanding the driveway while standing on it so she didn't want to wait, it's a Sundown three point sander.
This guy has a few videos about the land pride. Look like a very nice spreader. thewoodlands seems to have made our very well his too
It looks like a nice unit, I do like the grate on ours where you dump the sand in which will keep out any chunks and the deflector on ours that will keep a chit load of sand off the tractor, I'm wondering if you can get those with that spreader. I just saw they sand deflector on that unit.
The backhoe is on, it still was a pain in the arse getting it on so instead of screwing something up Dave came over from the Wood Chop Shop and in two minutes had it done. I'll start trail work tomorrow with the FEL with chips.
I decided since the radar said it wouldn't rain until 6:45 I would get two loads of chips on a low spot on a trail, when I started off with the first load mother nature let the rains come so I did the two loads and I'll finish it tomorrow. Picture 9222 is the first load, 9223 is the first load heading back on the trail,9225 is the low spot I'm filling in and the rest are the second load.
To the left of picture 9225 is a big hill that drains to that part of the trail so it will still be wet but much better. We could get another half inch of rain tonight so things will be wet tomorrow.
I'm getting ready to go outside today and I see five baby geese in the front yard with the parents, it's the first time since we had the house built that I've seen that.
I scrounged them, a company needed a place to dump them so I showed them where. Counting the loads I moved last night (2) and 6 today, the first load is almost gone with a smaller load behind the first. The camera got wet yesterday when I did the two loads so todays pics are cloudy but here are a few from the work done today. Pic 9232 was the first load today.
I moved around 11 or 12 loads of chips to what was a low area in the trail, this should make this part of the trail much better when it's wet or just when going for a ride.
Since I don't run the tractor on this trail very much, it should last. The ferns on the property are very nice and with all the rain it's even better.
