Great weather for it. Haven’t been above 5 C here yet. Blocked with icebergs here this year so summer is gonna be late coming for sure. The 3rd pic is in the bay 5 mins from the house.

Nice to split in the cool weather! I hope you get summer eventually. I've heard there are lots of icebergs this year in Newfoundland, cool to see them so close to your home.

Looks great Steve697 ! I too live in a tourist area, & man does it get busy in the summer. By Labor Day I'm really over them. Beautiful pics too.

Looks like you got it going on up yonder and great pics. Looks like in the one there is some huge birch rounds. Read it's really good to burn.
Question, If Florida gets snow birds coming in winter. What does Newfoundland get in summer? No need to reply I'm just being silly:nerd:

Nice Steve. I don't remember though if you split by hand or hydraulics? I'm guessing by hand.

Yes the birch is fantastic to burn. It’s the only hardwood we have. Only found in quantity in the interior of the island sadly about 400km away, so it’s like the white whale of firewood here. The previous homeowner used to buy it. $400/cord usually.

Haha great question! I’ll have to think on that one!

Thanks Mr. Backwoods! I split with hydraulics. A little 5 ton electric. Does the job. The spruce is pretty stringy especially when freshly cut
