These 2 guys have it right! Like it or not, putting up wood is work so taking a little time off to play with pets or especially children is time well spent. Sometimes it is great just to sit down and take in what nature gives you to look at. Animals, trees, even looking at the clouds. Then also listening to the birds and/or animals can be a great relaxer. I always am after my wife to do that. I tell her to stop and smell the roses. Also sometimes tell her to remove the blinders so she can look around instead of just concentrating on the work. There are times we have to do that but with my wife and I, we don't have to do much of it. We're retired. So take some time to enjoy life.

Yeah that is our racing wagon. Pull the kids in that chasing the dog and everyone comes inside happy.

Firewood is my mental detox from work. I get to be outside away from technology. You can't go wrong with getting a chance to hit something and later making a fire. If my kids or their dog come put and distract me I am happy with that, I prefer to do firewood at a slow pace. There is no point rushing something I enjoy or ignoring the ones I love.
