I spent all day Wednesday cutting and splitting, Mrs. Mt. man was stacking it faster than I could keep up. Most of the work was done Wed. with no pics. These are from today (Thurs.) The last pic is a well worn sawbuck, a lot of character in that wood. I guess it 's seen 30 to 40 cords. These stacks are for 4 years from now.

I'm glad you had some time off to get out there in the nice weather. Even if we're hoarding for 4 years from now, we need to do it!
Great that your wife helps. I've always enjoyed it when my wife come out to help out...except for the stacking. She does not seem to be capable of stacking wood so that the stack is somewhat neat and strong. Some ad used to say, "Leave the driving to us." I tell my wife, "Leave the stacking for me." Well, sometimes there are other choice words mixed in.
She stacks far better than I do, and she is fast. She has an eye for where to put each piece so that it "locks" with the splits around it and makes a solid stack. And she can cook! I think I'll keep her. Oh, and she keeps the stove going for 6 months of year.
