Great looking score jtstromsburg way to get it done! Doesnt hurt to ask the neighbors. Id take the pile of skinnies and smaller rounds. Dont really care for gnarly large wood. Dont mind noodling when i have to but not too much.
Great score.. I always find wood end up guys having big log left and tops gone . So I got saw that none of that matters now . .404 regular chain and .404 10 degree for curving 36 inch bar . Now watch I will only find soft wood....you never know might get lucky down the road. I have the exact same saw (unported) and LOVE it. Got powerhead used for $40 in Winter 2018 and dont know how i lived with just my 290. What exactly did you have done to it jtstromsburg ? Who did the work?

that elm is all split n stacked along with the elm that still had its bark. Hoping it’ll be ok by January. As for the trailer, I bought it that way. It’s small, but mighty I’d say. Don’t think I could overload it as it’s a little Mitsubishi but with the rails, can hold a fair amount. That along with half a pickup load or so, makes for a good nuff haul at a time. It doesn’t dump, but tilts enough to get gravity on my side. Needs to dry up some so I can keep on the css-ing. My neighbor is having three decent sized trees taken down and says I can have the wood. So I’ve been getting all the rounds split and stacked to make room. Trying to get 10 or so cord up this year so my three year plan can be started. Love the work, just need time mostly. Yes, ours is a free tree / grass dump in separate areas. Not staffed. Just unlocked early morning and locked up around 8:00pm. So far, my little town is fine with anyone cutting and hauling away. That’s where the first pics in this thread were from. Problem is usually it’s pushed up in a pile daily so timing is difficult. Plus, the couple local tree services keep any decent wood and dump either huge stuff, rot, or twisted crap. I found out the elm I grabbed was actually hauled out from another guys pile of logs he intends to mill someday. As luck would have it, I ran into him last evening and he sounded like he’s gladly dump good straight wood, that he’s not gonna use, right at my place. I’m running out of room though. I hear ya about room. I keep having to reinvent my processing area. I have triple the wood i normally do and have to CS and sometimes stack to bring more in. Nice connection to have...dumped right at your place that is.
These first two pics are of my main, ready to burn, storage area. The door on the house goes straight into my man cave where my stove is. I’m gonna chase so dead standing ash in the next month to finish filling this area. I’d like to cram 5 cord in there, which should be doable if I can keep it all upright. I’d like to have 4 cord available as I’ve only burned 2 1/2-3 cords each of the last winters since moving in, but I’d like to NOT hear the gas furnace kick on at all. this is on the opposite side of my property, and accessible thru the alley. My camper is 40’ long so takes a lot of real estate. We’re thinking of selling it so that’d make wood hoarding much simpler. this is the pile next to the camper. It’s 10’ long, stacked 6’ tall and is just over 48” wide on a big pallet. Hoping that is part of 22-23 wood if I can keep finding drier stuff sooner. just about a cord css, and another 1 1/2 cords in rounds. Got three 40’ elms coming in the next week so gotta keep moving, but most likely will pull the camper out of there and just pile for a bit. Is that some Hackberry I spy? I like hackberry, seasons fast and a decent amount of heat... They only thing negative is it will rot fairly fast in block form under the weather without protection.... Your stacks are lookin' good...
