I happened upon a score last December cigarsmokingzombie . State was cutting along state highway. I get there at 3:30 when they had just left. I pull over to load and within five minutes two more trucks pull in. Im like WTF as well! Is there a cell phone app for wood scores? Do they program "firewood scores" in their GPS? Anyhow, there was more than enough to go around. I actually helped the other guys load. I pulled 7-8 loads of ash and red oak. This was also the time when i finally decided to just cut with the saw roadside. I was always apprehensive about doing that. Will you bring your saw with you?
I agree...cutting and loading is more fun. Although loading in the full sun this afternoon wasnt!

Ugh, it’s 85 degrees in Delaware today. Losing out on the score set me into a state of depression, lol. My wife even felt bad for me even though she says every day...you have enough wood, your should split and stack what u have.

I took her advice and split and stacked a cord. I drank 4 bottles of water while doing it. Yeah, that was not fun. I didn’t even make a dent in my unsplit wood pile which helped with my depression. I guess the Raptor will be back out next weekend looking for more scores. Smoking a cigar and admiring my wood pile now.

And yes, I always bring my trusty 24” Husky just in case.

More tales to come! So much wood, so little time.

When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade cigarsmokingzombie as my older bro used to say! Ive missed out on scores and know the feeling! It was cloudy this morning, i get to the honeyhole and the sun decides to come out. Worked in full sun maybe 75 degrees. I cut, load, get home and unload and now its cloudy. Oh well, im enjoying an iced coffee on the deck in just my shorts. Gonna grill some chicken shortly. Nice breeze blowing too. Start the firepit for starting the charcoal!

See how easy y'all have it...I'm still stuck at work, can't even look for wood or CSS all the logs at home and what was split last night...on the bright side, my hunny has been busy since church this morning. She drove the tractor up to my mom's, got the grill and sent me pictures... 6891.jpeg burgers 6896.jpeg grilled Vidalia sweet onions 6893.jpeg and found 1 T- bone steak, which she promptly claimed...it's all good, she's earned it stacking all the wood we split lately and helping me cut grass.

Yes sir, told y'all she was a keeper, she can grill, drive the tractor, stack wood, run the splitter, make amazing cheesecakes (ask the folks at the GTG) and tried out the chainsaw a bit...she traded a potential diamond ring to get a new splitter for our 30th anniversary last Sept....I'm truly blessed...glad y'all can't make it to GA in an hour :vulture::vulture:, wouldn't be any burgers left for me...:grizz::drool::beerbbq:...:p:p:rofl:

I'm against paying for wood on principle. So, good decision. But the next fellow might pay the $75 of course.
