68 degrees cloudy & breezy but pleasant. Oak and yellow poplar pallet scraps in the firepit with ash bark too...lots of that on hand!
The high for the day here wasn't much over 60ºF and that was before the short blast of thunderstorms went thru around noon time, then it cooled off. It's not too terribly uncommon for north of me, inland and away from the water to be quite a bit warmer. No fire today but still have a stack of pine by the stove - just in case.
Hit 86 here today. WTF ??? 4 days and only 1/4" of rain,WTF? What's the yellow round thing in the sky ???? 2nd time this year the boiler has gone out.
high of 42 and rain. Fired the stove up with oak to warm up after a fun day of ATVing in the pouring rain.
Gave in and fired up the boiler last night. Got to 48 for the high today and supposed to get down to 40 tonight. Probably drop more than that here next to the marsh. Nice and cozy 70 on the lazy boy with a whiskey and a bowl of Captain Black Dark
It froze hard last night and probably will tonight. DED elm in the old cookstove. The warmest spot in Canada this hour is Dawson City, Yukon.
36f with a dew point of 25f, so we will have some frost. I am just hoping for no significant ground frost across the entire garden.
We had a very wet weekend. Total at the house was 2.05 inches. Nice today but more rain on Tuesday and Wednesday nice on Thursday with more rain on Friday. At least the lawns aren't burning up.
Yes, we got some rain yesterday but not like most got. They had a severe thunderstorm warning out but by the time that cell got to us it was petered out. Only heard one clap of thunder and just a short shower. I'm really happy that we do not live where you have to run air conditioners in May. I hate using one before July here. But some years we seem to use it a lot, like last summer and some years only 3 or 4 times all year. Normal for our area is 6 days of 90 or above. Seems lately we've had more. I hope it is less this year. Farmers are really hurting here. Very little corn has been planted and this rain just puts it off a few more days. But thankfully not much rain is forecast this week. I am surprised that 2 days of 80 is forecast for us later this week. We'll see.
Sitting at 49°f at noon. Snow and rain mix this morning. Did not expect winter to be putting up a fight this spring. More rain than usual with much cooler temps this year. It's fine by me though, if the forest is wet it's much harder for a fire to get started. With monsoons 6 to 8 weeks away the shorter the fire season the better.
83*s...ended up with over 3 "s last afternoon into evening....cold front comin thru tonite...lows50 s...65 tomorrow
62f here now after low of 35f this morning. Had frost on the truck windshield this morning, but the garden came through it just fine, even the tomato plants.
It got to 80° here, now back to 77°, and the AC is on, to deal with the humidity. No Tstorms yet, they might miss us. This weather is a good reminder to wrap up the wood processing as quick as I can. Then I can concentrate on opening the pool.
It got up to 63* today and presently at 60* and windy. Made me think of an October day when I went outside. Need to dry out a little. 40% chance of rain predicted Wednesday and Thursday.
OWB still being used here. Had sno9w on Sun (yesterday) with a miserable cold wet weekend. 32 scheduled for tonight!
Sounds like we have the makin's of a trade..... I will send you +20F and you send back -20F. Pick the format and I will upload it to you.... Sounds like America is like a badly balanced forced- hot air heating system: the overall is not too bad but it is way too hot in some 'rooms' and way too cold in others. Brian
