Birch started already and so have the Maple. Leaves on our Walnut are just starting......happy to see that.
Just also noted that a couple of the smaller Oak are too. Must be spring, eh?

Looks like rain again today. It is disappearing into the ground quickly. I think it will dry up later today. I am so glad it is Friday. Long weekend for us up here. Celebrating Queen Victoria's birthday.

I started working on the red pine leaners yesterday. They are hung up in some maples with bittersweet vines. I got the smaller ones pulled out and down.

I was making a rope swing in a big maple for my son and 3 toms walked out of the swamp and went by us 15' away. The hens went through the brush.

Capped the day with a sunset rainstorm.

Taking the day off here. Wrestling with that white oak does take its toll.

Well, went to lunch with 2 co-workers today. They wanted to go to George Dickel distillery for some new whiskey that came out. So we went before lunch, they got 3 bottles each.

Went to Chick fil a and on the way back they both needed to run into harbor freight real quick. I said good because Publix is right next door. I needed a banana and some groceries.

Nobody mentioned what they needed to get.

So...we all get into the one guys Jeep, 3 guys, 6 bottles of liquor, latex gloves, zip ties, and a big banana... it's not what it looks like!

Absolutely! First time I used duck Trickle was fittingly at an indoor cart track. Boss told everyone "come up with fun nicknames to use" I might have audibly cackled when I read it.

    Umm yeah..

More work for me. The neighbor had the tree service over and the took the 2 big ash trees down. It's all mine and while it isn't cut up really, at least I can cut it exactly the length I want, with no wonky cuts.

I'm horrible at guessing cords but this has to be at least 2 cords.

We just dropped below 50f and will stay here for a few days with a lot of rain, into Monday when it will break again above 60f. Looks like I will be waiting on another weekend to get some sunfish for a few meals. The furnace is still on here, and I suspect we will be firing up the wood stove next weekend on our visit to the old homestead up north.
