Holy crap, the sun is coming up, and I can actually see blue sky! Its supposed to get up to 61F today. Wow, what a treat!

I'm picking up the new boat this afternoon. Hopefully we will get a decent weekend. I haven't seen a boat out on the water in weeks.

 

Waiting for windshield repair guy this morning. Picked up a nice (?) rock chip last week...dang!

 

Our trip yesterday went well. Awesome weather for the English cousins. Got them settled into a campground for a few days so they can acclimatize to the time change. Then they will be traveling around. We will see them in a week.

 

A Man was driving down the road and his car breaks down near a monastery. He goes to the monastery, knocks on the door, and says, "My car broke down. Do you think I could stay the night?"The monks graciously accept him, feed him dinner, even fix his car. As the man tries to fall asleep, he hears a strange sound. A sound unlike anything he's ever heard before. The Sirens that nearly seduced Odysseus into crashing his ship comes to his mind. He doesn't sleep that night. He tosses and turns trying to figure out what could possibly be making such a seductive sound.The next morning, he asks the monks what the sound was, but they say, "We can't tell you. You're not a monk." Distraught, the man is forced to leave.Years later, after never being able to forget that sound, the man goes back to the monastery and pleads for the answer again.The monks reply, "We can't tell you. You're not a monk."The man sa,ys, "If the only way I can find out what is making that beautiful sound is to become a monk, then please, make me a monk."The monks reply, "You must travel the earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of grains of sand. When you find these answers, you will have become a monk."The man sets about his task. After years of searching he returns as a gray-haired old man and knocks on the door of the monastery. A monk answers. If I could teleport myself to cold VT to swap places with you and use your snow blower every time I needed to cut grass, I would take that deal every time.

 

I made a smoothie for breakfast at work. Strawberry, mango, and half of a frozen banana to give it some thickness. The best part is nobody comes in to ask me dumb questions when I run my blender.

 

Power has been out here at work for an hour. I asked if I could go home. My boss looked at me like I was crazy. So here I sit in a dark warehouse staring at a dark screen.

Yup Moparguy , it's a blistering 56 degrees outside.. And partly sunny
Need to think about mowing south facing lawns. About 4 inches high now

 

Wish ours was only that high. Chaz was finally able to get our front yard mowed last Saturday. Took Holly for a run today and way to wet for either the rider or the brush hog with the 4 wheeler.

 

76 and sunny here. Don’t get mad, Mr. Veal has had that beat for a long time. Just finished mowing 5 acres. Need to go work in the garden, but shade feels nice.

 

These conditions are what I am observing right now in the western suburbs of Mpls Dennis. Speaking of apple trees, the flowers on mine are just now opening.

Up at our old homestead near Grand Marais, MN there are no leaves of any kind out yet to speak of. We hope to see marsh marigolds and aspen leaves the size of a beaver's ear by Memorial day. Then things can pop quickly after that, including mosquitoes, followed closely by back gnats, but many years lilacs are at peak on the fourth of July, especially close to Lake Superior. We are one mile inland, so we are just on the edge of a slightly different climate, but still 2-3 weeks behind the metro up to St. Cloud east to Pine City.
