i just wanna know what it is. Smells wonderful in blossoms. Has never had any fruit on it in the 4 years I’ve lived here, nor evidence on the ground of ever having any. Seems like it should be an apple or crab apple. It’s in my front yard
Not sure, may be some sort of cherry??? My mom had a pink weeping cherry in her yard. The flowers were similar but pink.
That is gorgeous!! Fruitless crabappple? Oh boy, sitting under there with an iced tea, swimming in the sweet fragrance.
It may be that there is no other pollinator for the tree so if it is not self pollenating it will remain sterile until another is available to "knock it up".
The ornamental cherries i’ve seen have distinctive horizontal bands in the bark, which eventually give way to dark, rough bark. It doesn’t look like cherry to me.
I have a lot of "Pin Cherry" trees around me here, and many wild Cherrys also. It "really" looks like a pin cherry. If it's not, it's in the crab apple family. Beautiful tree either way! I'm definitly guessing Cherry.
Looks like a really old snow crab to me. Either way save all the branches when you trim it for smoking or grilling.
looks similar to my neighbors plum tree he gets about 3 plums a year but for about five days a year it smells delightful!
The leaves look like some kind of Apple to me, my grandparents had an orchard here when I was a kid. The leaves look familiar.
That’s exactly my plan, just curious as to what it was. Would kinda like to have another one just like it
