Hard to find Tulip on a lot of BTU charts but I've seen 16 up to 18. I've been calling it bad names on here for a while, but I'll revisit it this season to see if I need to change my view of the stuff. We've got plenty of dead standers around, I'll split some to kindling and some to medium splits, and see how it does. Like you guys said, even the lesser woods will last pretty good with the air cut in a cat stove. I burned a lot of soft Maple last season so if Tulip is close, I'll grab more in the future. Pretty common in these woods, and 'quick-drying' is always good...:smoke:

All heaped up, I still have to empty the truck but ran out of gas today. I shortened the longer stuff as I unloaded the trailer.

rdust, you probably have more wood on hand now than we do.

Unlikely, I started last fall with 17 cords or so, this probably only gets me back to that point. :)
