Started cloudy this morning, but turned into a nice sunny day. Still on the cool side so i went to my honey hole to start tackling some of the huge logs. Cut and loaded for maybe two hours. Took my time as i was in full sun. Late day it will be in the shade. My first weekend trip there. The skidded logs were on the gritty side and dulled both saws even though i was careful. Quartered and halved to load as well as noodled. All red oak this time. Next few logs in line are huge and dont know if ill be able to move them. Too big for peavey and no gap under any of them. Stay tuned!

This one log was wedged into the ground, at least i thought. Perfectly balanced on a cut off limb few inches deep. Made it easier to buck.

Love the pics with trucks full of wood. How many more trips till the honey hole come up dry?

Good looking load. Despite the grit, it looks like it won’t be too messy. Nice when you have time just to cut and load at a leisurely pace.

I guessing 50 cigarsmokingzombie . I did a log count yesterday and there is roughly 100 left. One log is 44" at the base!!! The next few in the pile are 24" + so moving them will be tough as the others above may shift. Biggest pile ive ever cut from. I have to climb up top to cut/shift them. I may try to work on smaller stuff as the big stuff is killing me. I dont mind working hard on wood, but hate killing myself. Back of pile stacked high and and right side on a bank so inaccessible. I can cut a few log ends from the left, but not much. IMG_0232.JPG
The pile when i left after load 3 last week. There was a few other oak shorts i bucked not pictured. It only takes a few of the big uns quartered to fill the PU!

it covers up the mud nicely The Muzzy, for the next cutting. There's like a "bedding" of old mulch/wood chips underneath. Dunno how far back that goes.

I would consider that JustWood . It would save me a LOT of work. Problem is my processing area is on my landlords property and im beyond hoarded already. He has the room for a triaxle or five loads of logs, but i dont want to overstay my welcome. This was my original thread from last month This Score Could be Epic!

That's something you are becoming very familiar with Reloader ! Like the winching video. Something for me to consider at my honey hole as well!
